Happened to be driving near here and figured I’d check it out. Lucky thing too since upon checking their website I learned that they’ll be closing later this month. This is an interesting setup and I don’t think they’re using their space very efficiently. The front half of the store is dedicated to wine but there isn’t much out there. That may be because they’re closing though. In the back is a bar with a couple of taps including the Rinche Cochon which is notable because of the awesome tap handle and glass that it comes with. The service and the customers were all friendly and this could be a fun place to hang out for a drink but then there is the Bottle Room about a block down the street, and I’m not from the area. Prices are a little high but not too far out of line. If they end up clearencing the Rodenbach Grand Cru bottles I might make a trip back.

More of a wine store, but they do have a respectable beer selection, though small. They also have some tap pours available. Again, nothing crazy, but all craft beers. Prices are pretty much what you’d expect and the staff was very friendly. Nice interior, though a little bit dark for my tastes.

Stopped by Vinatero, as is was one of the closer rb points of interest near Downey, CA. Upon entering, you are greeted to a slick, wine-laden corridor leading up to a bar area. The beer selection, sadly, is relegated to a back nook. Pros: Ernie, I assume one of the managers/owners, is a really friendly, quite knowledgeable fellow. Oh, and the selection is OK. Cons: this is a WINE bar. Nothing against Vinatero, but with that little floor space for beer (they do also have 4 beers on tap), there is really not much they can stock anyway.

Visited this place on Day 1 for the Grand Opening and have returned often. Much more than a wine shop. This place has some goods. The owner Ernie formerly worked in the industry and knows a thing or two about beer. The bar/shop has some really special and sometimes rare beers on hand. There are 4 unique taps as well that usually differ from other bars nearby. You may ask which bottled are available for pouring at the bar. The staff is great, friendly and is quite knowledgeable of the beers they serve. Look out for the very seldom beer tastings that occur, limited space is available for such ticketed events. A suggested sign-up for their newsletter off their website is informing if your in the area.
