| DJMonarch (82), Northwich, England | | October 16, 2006 Ideally located just a short walk from Chester railway station. Lovely old building which can get very busy after work hours but if you’re in here early you can sample the ambiance of the back room amongst all the books and wooden panelling, just like being in a library. Beer choice is pretty good if a little pricey compared to the rest of Chester but definitely worth a visit. | | pivnizub (223), Porúří, Germany | | July 29, 2006 A converted warehouse with large book-shelves on the walls; friendly service, very well selected choice of real cask ales, excellent food.... Not in the historic centre of Chester, but only a ten-minutes walk from the cathredal; always worth a visit ! | | Gethinbeer (42), Nova Scotia | | May 5, 2006 [ Updated April 22, 2007 ] I was kindly introduced to this pub by friends. The pub has a fine selection of ales to choose from, to drink in a traditional English style pub. They have a couple of regulars and also a good few guest ales. The food is good to. April 2007 Been there a few times now. Still has a good selection of ales. Food still good. Definitely recommend if in Chester |
