| DJMonarch (82), Northwich, England | | July 29, 2007 An interesting setting which is a little way out of the city centre and situated next to the canal and railway. As the name suggests it’s a vast warehouse type building which can seem very empty and lonely at quiet periods but the ale selection is good. Not sure if you can sit outside by the canal but this would be quite pleasant on warm Summer days, if we ever get those back!
| | Gazza (120), Worcester, England | | July 27, 2007 The pub – if it can be called a pub – is built, as the name suggests, in an old warehouse built by Thomas Telford on the banks of the Shropshire Union canal, next to the railway, on the western fringes of the city and is like drinking in a brick-walled warehouse full of assorted tat which, I suppose, is exactly what it is. It’s a lot more sociable than this suggests, however, and as long as you go midweek and early the pub seems to be a good place for a few well-kept cask ales. |
