| Ungstrup (209), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | August 22, 2008 Beware of the opening times - the tasting room doesn’t open until 3 PM on weekdays. A very dark room makes it out for the tasting room - somewhat dull, but you can see the brewery thru a window. Not many patrons on a Friday afternoon between 3 and 5. 10 beers on draft, so for that matter a scoop. Very attentative and knowledgable service. | | waldowalters (11), Texas | | February 7, 2007 When I mentioned at a few other places that I was planning on visiting here, they looked at me like I was nuts. So I did not come here with high expectations. The good thing is that I was pleasantly surprised! The beers I tried were quite good, the bartender, who was also the owner, was very attentive, talked about his beers, brought us some peanuts to snack on and even offered to give us the recipe to his IPA when I mentioned how I liked it and would love to brew something similar. A little hard to find, but not far from Redstone. | | hopdog (176), Lansdale, Pennsylvania | | December 11, 2006 Nice little tasting room with that comfortable feeling to it (couple of friendly dogs walking aroun). Friendly bar tender and a nice selection of beers on tap. You can also buy growlers, bombers and 12oz’ers. | | fly (163), austin, Tejas, | | October 2, 2006 Tiny place and on the Saturday eve I was there a band was taking up valuable real estate. Luckily there were tables outside, but that also meant sitting w/ smokers. Free peanuts for a hungry guy was nice touch in otherwise unremarkable place. Selection seemed limited, but I was also half asleep, so may be wrong on that call. | | SpudClampDawg (42), Jasper, Indiana | | June 5, 2006 This brewpub is really close to Avery if you find yourself in north Boulder. Everything seemed to be made out of pine on the interior, creating a cool cabin type setting. Foosball table in the corner along with a handful of tables and a small bar, with additional seating outside. Decent beers on tap, including a whiskey aged Red and their award winning espresso stout. Northstar Imperial Porter wasn’t on tap, but I was able to cajole a bottle out of our waitress when I told her I came all the way from Indiana for the beer. Ray, the brewmaster, was nice enough to take me back into the brewey and show me the whiskey barrels he was using for the stout and red. Cool place and definitely worth the stop for a pint. | | Braudog (441), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates | | April 23, 2006 4/14/06: Apparently this place took over the old Oasis bottling plant. The hostess was nice enough, but the beers weren’t really that good. There were a couple good ones, but I’d put this towards the bottom of the Boulder beer priority list. | | Ernest (103), Boulder, Colorado | | October 5, 2005 Located where the Oasis annex was, it’s mostly a brewery with a few tables and a bar setup. It’s rare that I see many people there, as it’s in a rather industrial part of town, and kinda hidden off behind a strip mall. But it’s cozy and pleasant enough inside. Often one or two pilot beers are available from keg that they don’t bottle, so sometimes worth a visit to see what might be coming to bottle form in the future. Bob’s a nice guy and always willing to talk shop. | | BeerandBlues2 (139), Colorado Springs, Colorado | | June 28, 2005 The tap room is just off Hwy 36 in Boulder and easy enough to find. Bob, the owner and brewer, was pouring the brews on Saturday and provided excellent company to sit and talk about his brews. He even sold me a Northstar Imperial Porter from his personal refrigerator since I was from Alabama and he had run out months ago! He lets his golden retreiver have free reign of the place, although he was mostly napping while we were there; he did great us at the door. A must see in Boulder. |
