| BeerandBlues2 (139), Colorado Springs, Colorado | | February 19, 2008 Upscale place in LoDo with a fair selection of house brews and a fairly extensive wine list. Food is on the pricey side but worth it. The service is very good. | | redlight (45), Winter Park, Florida | | October 17, 2007 The food was great! We had porkchops and buffalo medalions. The meat was great! The beer was ok, not bad, but nothing outstanding. The food is worth the visit though! | | Retorp (124), Tampa, Florida | | October 12, 2006 Presented as an upscale steak joint and it is replete with all the masculine brass and wood touches every steak joint seems to go in for. I only had soup, but it was damn good. The beer was so-soish with some that were decent enough. Nothing incredible, but a few incredible attempts at barrel aging and some more obscure styles. worth a visit and could be a real winner if the beer reaches the quality of the brewer’s aspirations. | | The_Beer_God (88), Newport News, Virginia | | October 7, 2006 Came here after Wynkoop during the afternoon of September 29th. Sat at the bar and had a sampler which included everything they had on tap. The brewer came out and offered us, and the rest of the patrons in the bar area, a cask version of their wheat and a bottled conditioned version of their saison. We came back later for dinner and had an absolutely scrumptous meal. I had the pepper rubbed steak and my wife had steak special of the day, which I can’t seem to recall now. Both were cooked to perfection. Service was impeccable as it was while we were at the bar previously. Would recommend this place to anyone! | | luiss (14), Elmsford, New York | | October 2, 2006 Went to the location in Denver. This restaurant is percieved as a upscale steakhouse, didnt feel like it. The bar was filthy, plates where dirty, and i had the privious cutomers glass of water sittinig in front of me for 8min. I felt like i was at a fancy Applebees they shove the check in your face everytime you order something, and it was more crowded than i expected. I ordered the herb crusted lamb chops which to my surprise where cooked to perfection, but full of fat less than 1/3 part meat. Beers where fresh, and flowing. I would like to go back to this place and see what happens on the next try. Thanks to the boy behind the bar washing the glasses he was the newbie with the most experiance. | | Braudog (441), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates | | September 21, 2006 Sep 06: My second ChopHouse (after DC) with the same overall opinion: this is a restaurant striving harder for upscale dining than upscale brewing. But they look to do both well. Nice environment and some pretty good beers to be had, with friendly, quicky service. | | rlinccpa (15), Moline, Illinois | | December 18, 2005 Food was excellent - Not the Chop House in Chicago, but still excellent. Beer selection was ok, and those I sampled I enjoyed
| | matta (81), Tampa, Florida | | October 12, 2005 I stopped in for Sunday brunch with the crew. The food was terrific, steak and eggs… just what the stomach ordered! The beer was pretty crummy… and they have many of the same beers, actually all the same recipes as Rock Bottom. Anyway, it is a great concept and I loved the ambiance! A nice looking female staff, also! | | Ernest (103), Boulder, Colorado | | October 6, 2005 Beer geeks may feel a little out of place here, as it’s more of a slightly-upscale restaurant than a brewpub. The staff is clothed in monkey suits and thus walking in wearing jeans and t-shirt makes you stick out a bit. But hey, the waitstaff and bartenders have always been friendly (always nice to get smiles from the waitresses), so even though they’re not always the most knowledgable about the beers, they make your stay a pleasant one. Beers are average at best, so it’s not a place to seek out cool stuff, but it’s an easy walk from Falling Rock or Breckenridge. I really should try the food someday. | | JMerritt (44), Macomb, Illinois | | October 3, 2005 Visited for lunch when in town for GABF 2005. A cool place, neat retro sports artwork and newspaper ads decorate the walls. Our waiter was very friendly and prompt, seemed to know a decent amout about their beer offerings. We sat next to their wine "cellar," it looked pretty extensive. There were about 9 different beers available. I only had one (slightly better than average), as I was nursing a headache and wasn’t really in the mood for beer, but I normally would have liked to try a few more. Food was very good. I got a chipotle lobster club sandwich, very tasty and very large portions. Worth a stop for a meal and a couple beers. | View Page : 1 2
