| rocbyter (13), Waterbury, Connecticut | | November 10, 2007 Found some beers I haven’t seen in other package stores in been to in the area, but nothing super special. The staff was knowledgeable though and they had two open bottles of beer for tasting. | BT (4), Newtown, Connecticut does not count - explanation | | July 16, 2005 [ Updated October 6, 2005 ] Since I moved to town, Stop and Save Liquors has been a great place to fill my belly full of Belgians, English Ales, Seasonals, and some hard to find beers. The service is incredible. The owner is a delight to talk with, and he is continually adding new selections. Admittedly though, the store also has wine and liquor, so the selection is not as good as one would find at a purely beer store.
New addition to the store: first week of October, the owners added a computer near the beer selection for regulars to add ratings and for basic descriptions of the beers on the shelf. Ratings are also taken from ratebeer.com as a guide for buyers. | | IMtheOptimator (33), Bethel, Connecticut | | July 4, 2005 A small store tucked away in a Stop and Shop plaza. Mostly a wine store, there is a decent selection of NE beers, as well as a decent array of Belgian and British imports. I didn’t need most of what they had, but if I were newer I probably would have gotten a lot out of it. |
