Located in an old Post Office, this wonderful brewpub features great food and a solid selection of homebrewed beers. Heavy on the IPAs, Willimantic also features some nice brown ales and stouts (Postal Patron!). If you are within an hours drive, definitely worth checking out. Also, Willimantic has a fine menu, with some awesome burgers and generous appetizers. Plan to eat dinner there as well.

Thanks goes out to IMMY for taking me here. The food was excellent, I didn’t have a beer that I didn’t like, and talk about some eye-candy. This is a must stop when in the area.

I love this place, their homemade brews are top notch and their guest brews are diverse and plentiful. I’d give the place a 5 out of 5 on ambiance if the whole place was more like the bar section, but the eatery section isn’t as enjoyable. If you go to eat, definitely sit at the bar and try an aeropostale pizza. This place is a real gem.

A converted post office with an adjoined bar / brewpub and restaurant, Willi makes great beer and offers great food in, essentially, the middle of nowehere. Probably ten or twelve different in-house beers when we were there (including Pushing the Envelope Extreme) along with some local CT beers and diverse U.S. and foreign selections, including stuff like Ten Fidy and Aventinus. Very nice selection of beers. Excellent food menu and solid vegetarian selections: the veggie burger was huge and tasty, while the cajun fries were excellent. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food, and we went through multiple rounds of Pushing the Envelope Extreme. Very much worth the drive if you’re anywhere in the area. Willi and Cambridge House seem to be the must-stops in CT.

A very nice selection of house beers to choose from on both visits, as well as a few guest taps of decent quality. Forget about the guest taps, though, cuz their own beers are quite nice. A bit of a bias towards hoppy interpretations of the styles, but that’s probably a good thing. Service on both visits was timely, beer knowledge pretty good too (although Cottrell was a practical guide on both visits, thanks, Todd!). Food is good stuff too, dinner worthy, not your usual pub type food.

Guilded tour from Immy. Bit of a road trip but well worth it. A must visit in this historical New England town. Great use to save this historical landmark in American history, small town American when mail didn’t have an E in the name and was personal as was the fabulous service at this post office. Fabulous food and service, watch out for the potatoe skins, I am talking 2 and a half whole baked potatoe size portions...go hungry leave full, satisfied and happy.

As others have allready said, the building is an big, old post office. Located right on Main Street, it was a piece of cake to locate. I went on a Thursday afternoon and it was allready starting to get busy. The service was excellent for the most part. One of the managers was nice enough to stop and chat a little about the house beers. The beer selection was awesome with they’re R.M.S. Drye Stout and Address Unknown IPA being my personal favs. They also have a huge selection of New England micros. The food was great and well needed for an afternoon of fine beer sampling. I plan on going back within the next week.

Neat place - an old post office building, and they carry the theme throughout the experience. Great selection - their beers are diverse and quite good, and they also have a good list of regional micros. Menu consists primarily of pub fare; the sandwhiches I’ve had were good. Recommend this place to anyone.

Enormous place by pub standards. Used to be a post-office. Many beer have post-office related names (Dead Letter, Pushing the Envelop, etc.). A few big rooms. I don’t how many people it can sit total but we’re probably talking in the neighbourhood of 200. Despite its size the place doesn’t feel like a Brewpub-Mart. The rooms have a warm feeling and the décor is cosy. Beer selection is 10 of their own beers (including one cask) and about 15 so-so taps of other micros. From their 10 beers only two were of the crowd-pleaser genre. All 8 others were tasty beers. This place is the IPA paradise. There was 4 or 5 of them in service and they each had their own personality. The non-IPAs were mostly not as impressive but still very good. Friendly service. Food was above average but still typical brewpub almost-fast-food.
