Theis | Strange 24 hour sports bar, not very charming. But good beers - and that’s it !!!

Doggythedog | We heard a lot about this being open 24 hours a day but learned the hard way that it isnt in fact on sundays. Odd atmosphere inside... dark, slot machines (I think), tv (or a projector, don’t remember) showing some music channel. Our beers got delivered just fine (maybe a bit too cold). Gotta love the fact that this has the whole Kout range (minus the unfiltered 10). Ah, well.

ogivlado | Bet and gambling place with cheap and good beer. Someone said that it’s opened 24/7, so Croatian crew went there on Sunday before Grand Tasting, but only we’ve found were closed doors (it opens at 4 pm). In general- dark place, smokey, loud music, very good Kout beers.

thewolf | A very weird place, some gambling machines in the front hall and not much telling that this is the place that serve the consistently best Czech beers. Okay service from young ladies, whose English was limited, at least. Beers are cheap and very good - buying glasses was VERY expensive (which was weird - or the bartender was just trying to rip meoff - didn’t buy one, so the jokes on her). Rather large and dark, but the beers make up for almost anything.

ChristianScheffel | I love their beers with their crisp malt profile, and finding such good beers on sale 24/7 is not pssible everywhere. But how empty it must be when there isn’t 40 ratebeerians in town.

Ungstrup | First thing that hits you when you enter is the cigarette smoke in the nose - not that it is that bad - I’m just mostly used to smokeless enviroments - the next things is the entrance with slotmachines - a bit weird. Coming inside it is very dimly lit with big screen tv’s running most of the time. The interior seems a bit run down - maybe that is the reason for the dim lighting. They got 5 beers on tap of good quality and cheap price, and the service is nice, though some misunderstanding is prone when you speak english to them. Not my favorit place - but it is open 24 hours a day.

ekstedt | This would be a dreadful place, ugly, smokey, noisy with loud and bad music, unless it were for the Koutsky beer served on tap. Fast and friendly service.

MartinT | Had a blast here with a few Montreal buddies of mine. The server got to like us really quickly (our merrymaking and profound respect for the beer might have been a funny combination to him). The only reason to come here of course is the Kout beer lineup, Kout na Sumave being one of the standout micros in Czechia in my book. We came here first in the afternoon to sample all beers available, sharing pints. The beers were so good, we decided to come back in the evening, where I settled on the Koutsky 12 for many, many pints. Heaven. Prices are ridiculously cheap for an outsider and the 10 and 12-degree Svetlés are simply world-class. What more could you want? True, the atmosphere is rather depressing, but if you are with a few friends you will change this atmosphere and make it become your own little living room bar. Which happens to serve some of the best Svetlé there is.

acrdz | So this is the gem of Plzen? I didn’t know what to think at first, it seems like a local community center where old people went to play cards... the interior is drab and simple, there’s a bar in the corner, some tables scattered about, but it’s all just one big simple room. I kept thinking how strange and unfulfilling it would be to have a night-long session in this place, but to be honest I had a fantastic time, mostly due to the quality of the beer available (both versions of Koutský 12°, along with the 10° and the 18°, roughly 17 - 25 czk, which is like less than $1 each... incredible), but also due to it being Wednesday and Wednesday is Karaoke night! Nothing like two drunk Americans owning the Czech karaoke with our flawless English :) Also we thought we would be cool and exciting and just order a random appetizer and eat whatever they brought us since we couldn’t read the menu. So we picked one and we got... a bag of peanuts. Huzzah!

coldbrewky | I was fortunate enough to be led here by montelpogo and here we sat and rambled and tried as many of the Kout beers as I could handle at that point. You cant beat the fact that this place never closes and that the 12oz beers are something silly like 75 cents each. I felt instantly at home here. A roomy pub with darts and fooseball. I forgot to pick up a glass so, Fil, if’n your reading this.....hint hint. We got loud and no one seemed to care. I did not get to try the baltic porter due to my advanced state of sillyness, but it sure smelled good. A must stop at for anyone making the trip to Plzen.
