| Jonte (25), Gothenburg, Sweden | | August 11, 2008 Very good food and some decent, but average beers. The service was good. Unfortunately not very cozy, but you can sit outside in the summertime. | | HenrikSoegaard (31), Randers, Denmark | | July 11, 2008 Nice place, good food, freindy and knowingly staff. You can buy bottles to go. Great variety of own beers. | Thure (8), Aalborg, Denmark does not count | | May 9, 2007 A bit to "clean" in the edges. The cosyest place is the Slyngelstue that usually is filled. A handfull of the staff has knowledges of what they are serving the rest is more or less blank. The quallity of the beer has gone up in the last 1½ year and with a new brewmaster it will be interresting to see if it gets better or holds the current level. | | faroeviking (94), Faroese Autonomous Beer Republic, Denmark | | February 6, 2007 [ Updated April 12, 2007 ] Ok place but too much light and far from a real cozy place. Bit too "stiff". When the brewer has time though he talks a lot about the beers. Quite a few different styles on tap. Good for big groups/meetings down stairs. | | chris_o (109), London, England | | December 7, 2006 [ Updated December 9, 2007 ] Couldn’t fault the service and hospitality here. As soon as Claus, the owner, spotted us, he was over like a shot. Samples of all the beers on tap appeared, followed by an impromptu tour of the very high-tech brewery and samples of trial and experimental brews, plus tastes of the German beers on which some of the Sogaards brews are based (unfortunately, I forgot to note the name of the brewery) and free charcuterie from the in-house butchers shop (Claus used to be a butcher). As others have said, its not the cosiest place and the beers are generally clean, solid but unexceptional. We were considering having a meal but the free nibbles obviated the necessity. Welll worth a stop. | | yngwie (71), Kristiansand, Norway | | October 25, 2006 Not the cozies place there is, but it is a good retreat if you want some decent food and micro-brew after spending the day beer-hunting in other places in Aalborg. As usual, not all of the staff is too knowledgeable about neither beer nor the food, but some of them knows their job. The even got a butchers shop on the premises. And the beers from Søgaard is best from tap. | Sofajoern (5), , Denmark does not count | | November 27, 2005 Only slightly above average for a brewpub and this is mainly because of the excellent food.
Beer is a bit dullish ranging from pretty decent to quite poor.
Prices are quite steep and ambiance is nothing special really. | Sobchak (8), Skagen, Denmark does not count | | November 8, 2005 A bit to sterile if you ask me, like being in an operating room. The beers are with one or two exceptions nothing special, not yet anyway. The service is good though, and the food is allright. - I agree that the place has some potential..... | | Sigmund (69), Hafrsfjord, Norway | | November 7, 2005 Due to a ferry delay I suddenly found myself with an hour to spend in Aalborg a late Friday night, and headed straight for this brewpub. Nice looking place with "mature" guests. Friendly but not very fast waiter, supplied me with small samplers of all 6 beers in stock + a full size of one of their beers - but I’m not 100% convinced that they were all sorted out correctly! The beers seem designed to satisfy the average Danish lager drinker - only 1 ale (an IPA) out of 6 available beers. All of them were drinkable, though. I did not eat on my visit, but they seem to have a decent menu. As I was just passing through from Germany I had no Danish kroner, and asked if I may pay with euros (no need to bother with a credit card for such a small sum of money). Euros were accepted, but the exchange rate was outrageous. | | Mads Langtved (46), København K, Denmark | | July 30, 2005 A pretty average brewpub. Some of the beers were infected. Nice surrounding though. The place has a big potential of being a great, great place. | View Page : 1 2
