What can I say about Olbutikken that has not already been said? Just a 10 minute walk or so from the central train station. Well I was in Copenhagen for a little holiday last week with my wife and although Olbutikken was closed the day we planned to visit, Jeppe was kind enough to open up for us to let us shop. Jeppe also agreed to trade a few beers with me so I was really looking forward to the visit.
When we arrived, Jeppe was waiting for us and really friendly. We talked for more than 1/2 hour about beer and other stuff while I shopped. Unfortunately my luggage was not big enough to hold all the beer I wanted to buy but I made a good selection of several Danish and Belgian beers including Cantillon Blabaer which I have been waiting to get for a few years.
Jeppe worked out a fantastic trade for me that I could not repay him for!
Aside from the great Danish and Belgian selection, I was amazed by the number of great US craft beers that were here. I would have bought some but I had to concentrate on things that I just can’t get at home.
If you are anywhere near Copenhagen, you have to stop at Olbutikken, you would be stupid not to!

Jeppe came and opened his store on his day off for a total stranger. The store was incredibly stocked, the best that I have seen in Upper Europe since the Pitfield beer shop in London closed. The first to get new beers from Mikkeller and Struise. Easy to get to in Copenhagen as it is near the sightseeing areas of town. By far the best in all the Scandinavian countries. Thanks Jeppe

A great beer store, with a nice selection, of hard to get beer. I prefer more beer from Amager Bryghus. A very knowleged staff. They also served fantastic food, try there Pannepøt.

Really nice beer store. Very nice service and freindly staff. Not the biggest lot of beers, but all they have in the shop are very rare and/or very good.
For some beers this is the only place to go. A must when you come to Copenhagen.

We came here on vacation a couple of weeks ago and man, what a store! Though kind of small, they have the best selection of stuff I’ve ever seen (then again, since I’m from the states, anything new looks pretty awesome). Tons of Danish brews, along with rare Belgian stuff (Cantillon, Struise, Westvleteren) and even a good selection of American micros. Jeppe obviously knows his beer and is an unbelieveably nice guy. How can you not go here if you’re in Copenhagen?

A very small place in the city centre of Copenhagen. Very interesting selection with some nice American micro stuff, plenty of Westvleteren and other good belgians, and a lot of danish microbrews. Very helpful and knowledgable staff.
