| Fin (68), Merton, England | | September 13, 2007 Not a bad find, opposite the Dolphin pub on quite a busy road, four real ales all kept very well. Looked like this is a good music pub as band setting up whilst we were there. Bar staff very good and appeared quite knowledgeable. | | Rastacouere (408), Montréal, Quebec | | August 26, 2007 Another very old Derby pub, just by the Dolphin and less than 5 minutes away from the sublime Flower Pot, so you may stop by for a quickie on the road to other interesting places. It’s not a must, but it’s a nice, very authentic pub, quiet and welcoming. | | DJMonarch (82), Northwich, England | | July 29, 2007 On my first Derby visit this place was being renovated but the next time I went it had reopened. A good selection of ales, about 8 on including the excellent Derby Triple Hop. | | berkshire_john (45), Bracknell, England | | June 18, 2007 A good selctgion of cask ales. Rather quiet and lacking in atmospehere on a Monday night. Very friendly bar staff. | DeepBlack (8), Derby, England does not count | | March 14, 2006 Now re-opened. Not been in yet, but plan to soon. If it returns to it’s past glory, could be a very good ale pub. | | haddonsman (53), Derby, England | | May 10, 2005 [ Updated December 30, 2007 ] UPDATE DECEMBER 2007
Yet another change of licensee has seen the beer range revert to fairly blandly kept regionals casks. Not worth a special visit. brbrUpdate: Quite smart inside, clearly set out as an eating pub rather than a drinking pub. 8 pumps but just four beers on, had a slightly dodgy Bass. Needs to bring in four guests alongside its four regulars to make it a worthwhile stop on a Derby crawl. |
