Despite the fact that I have lived no more than a 30 min drive from here for over 3 years I only just visited on a recent camping trip. As SilkTork says atmosphere is like a Brewers Fayre/Beefeater/any other pub chain trying to be fakely traditional and focusing on food sales. The beer was not bad, but worth visiting as it is the only outlet usually. I was disappointed with the food - despite the fairly exotic menu shark, unsual fish aswell as more traditional items - it seemed to sum up some of the worst faults of English cooking: soft veg, bland sauce and overcooked meat.

A roomy pub. Atmosphere is a bit like a Brewers Fayre or Beefeater. The food is decent, the place is clean and comfortable with a certain degree of charm. We enjoyed our lunch there. The big draw, of course, is the beer.
