September 2, 2007 This much altered pub is situated alongside the Oxford canal and sandwiched between this and Oxford to Banbury railway line with the River Cherwell close by.
Recently taken over by Greek gentleman and with a slightly more interesting range of beers being sold than were previously available. It was very busy when I was there yesterday as the pub was hosting a beer festival and the local canalside festival, so service was understandably slow on occasions.
Will always be popular owing to its location, but needs to pull its socks up if it wants to be taken as seriously as some of the counties other top country pubs. |
