Of the two Töölö Fish pubs, this is the popular one. Rather packed and noisy when we were there. However, the staff are prepared to actually sell you beer with less than a 10 minute wait, which makes them vastly preferable. Standard Fish Pub selection, which is good, you’ll not ever be short of something tasty to drink.

"The Thirsty Salmon" is definitely one of my favorite hangouts in Helsinki. It’s a friendly neighbourhood bar which is part of the growing conglomerate of beer-oriented bars in and around the city. Also includes several other bars named after fish and the four William K’s. Spring 2005 features drafts from Finnish Microbrewery Stadin Panimo, which are definitely worth a detour. The bartenders here are friendly and love to recommend beers from the quite large selection.

Small, a bit sterile place, divided in smoking and non-smoking parts by a large glass wall. Decent selection but nothing special.

The first belgian estaminet in Finland and the first bar where Finnish Belgian Trappist Beer Lovers found Chimay Grande Reserva bottles as candle holders - at the beginning of 90s. Sometimes nice seasonals like Cantillon Kriek on tap. Easy place to stop by for an Orval...
