| azorie | Started out a very decent store in 2006. At that time they had a decent Belgian import selection, most of the German beers, and a few of the English, very few Scottish beers. They do have for this area a decent American micro single selection. They are a wine store and a volume store first. They have lost a whole beer island to wine coolers and BMC cases sells. Since the start of 2008 they have gotten in 6 new American micro companies. But they now have from about 50 Belgians (i mean real Belgian beers, not American clones) down to about 15, very sad. It’s better than ABC, but not better than most Broudy’s. I no longer want to shop there due to the management indifference to even attempting to reorder stuff they have in the catalog. This store does not hold a candle to the Tampa store. Only reason I came back was I heard they now carried Weyerbacher. They do not carry a full line of ANY micro’s. Since they are cheaper than Broudy’s though, its hard not to come back and get some stuff got time to time.

kiefdog | Visited this Total Wine on a recent trip to Jacksonville, and well, it was about what I expected for a Total Wine. Most of the typical beers available at my home location were present here as well, and we were easily able to find enough beer to make it through the weekend. Spent a lot of time talking to other people shopping for beer which made the experience more enjoyable. As with most Total Wine stores, the service is the part most lacking. But overall, cannot complain with my visit to this one.

| chimay67 | Ok I am an NYC snob and for North Florida, this place was a godsend on a 4 day trip to Amelia Island. A good enough selection to please almost any beer geek, or wine or booze geek for that matter. Excellent prices, very good selection, cigars to boot. In the same strip mall is a Publix supermarket for ice and foam coolers, a decent chocolate shop and a starbucks for a bathroom and a frap. Cheers!

KieferUGA | Definitely a big box wine store, but don’t be fooled. In the back, left corner of the store is where you’ll find the beer. They have a great selections of singles to make six packs. Was able to pick up some stuff I can’t get access to here in Georgia (Allagash, Dogfish Head, Lost Coast, etc.) Just past the domestic singles, they have beers grouped by country. I never had anyone come up to me and ask if I needed any help, but I knew what I was looking for so I didn’t really need it. Only dust on a few bottles, so the supply looks to be pretty fresh. If you are in the Jacksonville Beach, Town Center area, definitely take a peek at what they have to offer.

PorterPounder | Big box type liquor store which caters more to the wine crowd it seems. Has a solid slection for the north Florida area and offers a wide array of singles. Well sorted out by countires which is nice. Nothing too out of the ordinary here - but a good place to stock up on some singles - found about a dozen or so without looking really hard. Kind of a dark, unfriendly atmosphere. Prefer their Tampa location. Don’t go out of your way for -but if in the area - stop by.

PhillyBeer2112 | A bit hard to rate this place, as its obviously a wine store first and foremost. I’d imagine this is heaven for a wine buff - as big as a medium supermarket with aisles and aisles of wine, even a wine tasting bar. I visited 2 days before Christmas and the whole surrounding mall area, including this store, was jam packed and heavily congested. Parking was dismal, and I had to walk quite a distance. It took me awhile to find the beer section (small compared to their wine section - a corner on the back wall), despite noticing some beer displays at the end of some aisles (mostly Chimay gift packs). I’m not sure how much beer was scattered throughout the rest of the store or whether I missed anything, but I got enough new goodies from the "main" section. Dogfish head, stoudts, JP, Rodenbach, and several other good ones, along with a variety of stuff that is not so great but was at least new to me (like an Israeli lager). I found the prices appealing, all of the above mentioned beer I bought in 750ml bottles each for less than $10. Still, this place is really a wine store than a beer store. They did offer a moderately interesting selection of gourmet foods/hors douvres.

mike mcneil | For this area of the country this is as good as it gets. For north Florida the selection is pretty damn good, but of couse a retailer can only carry what is available through their distributors. If its available here, TW carries it or will order it for you. Their customer service BTW is very attentive. The two big pluses are a fairly wide selection of singles which are nicely displayed seperately from the six-pack shelves. Also, their prices are extremely good (for now at least). The manager told me that the current prices will hold until Oct. "06. However, their prices overall are considerably cheaper than their local competitors. The prices are also clearly displayed. $6.99 for Anchor sixers, $6.99/4 pk. for Unibroue, $4.99 for GD Old Ruffian (22 oz) just as a few examples. Definitely the first place to check out here in the Jax area before going anywhere else.
