6 reviews for Mellow Mushroom (Tallahassee)
| drowland (42), Tallahassee, Florida | | September 19, 2009 [ Updated October 28, 2009 ] I feel like I should be giving this place a higher rating, as it was decent, but it just had too many flaws for beer drinkers and non-drinkers alike.
The ambiance is fine. A nice clean place with goofy mushrooms and stuff like that all over. Well lit, and if it’s nice you can sit outside. Unfortunately when I went we had 12 people and they had nowhere for us to sit except outside, and it was hot as balls out, which sucked. Not their fault, I suppose.
This leads, however, right into the service. The service was absolutely awful. I don’t know if they were understaffed or what, but our waitress barely paid attention to us, which was a dumb move because you can make plenty in tips from a group of 12. Also, we wanted plenty of beers, but we had to wait and wait and wait for them.
The selection of beers is decent, but nothing crazy that you probably haven’t had before if you’re into beer. About 10-15 on tap and 20-30 bottles.
The food is pretty damn good. I had a calzone and lots of people got some tasty looking pizza. It was all good.
The value is average to a bit pricey. They charge a fair amount of bucks to add toppings to pizza, and certain ingredients, like chicken, cost double.
Overall, a cool place to visit if you’ve got some money and want to drink some decent brews with your good pizza. Be prepared to be there awhile, though, if it’s busy. | | accpete (10), Tallahassee, Florida | | March 21, 2009 Great, albeit pricey, pizza. Atmosphere is fun, service not bad. A handful of drafts to complement your meal, but that’s about the only reason to head to MM. | | daknole (93), Scottsdale, Arizona | | March 19, 2009 I love the MM! 100 beers, kick ass pizza, fun decor and great service. No complaints here! | | desurfer (77), Pinellas Park, Florida | | October 8, 2008 Like any other MM establishment, except the draft list seemed limited. Enough variety but not great. Pricey pizza but very good as usual. If you’re in Tallahassee and need pizza and a good draft micro, it’s worth the stop. | fattibobatti (5), Tallahassee, Florida does not count - explanation | | May 9, 2007 amazing pizza that goes great with the decent draft selection, highlight being the sweetwaters which wash down pizza perfect. newcastle, guinness, and a bunch of other macros besides the basic AH. service not bad, really quick sitting at the bar. if you go to FSU like me, its not a bad place to get lunch and beer. | | PorterPounder (180), Tallahassee, Florida | | November 27, 2006 Took a while to finally get one of these in Tallahassee. Excellent pizza as always. Plenty of staff avaialble to help you. Taps were non-descript outside of the three types of Sweetwater available - 420; Blue and Hummer - first place outside of Georgia I have seen this many. Standard macros and imports for bottle selection. Within walking distance of FSU’s Doak Campbell Stadium - good place to eat before, during or after a game - plenty of TVs and "coeds" to keep you occupied while you wait for your food. |
