| AmEricanbrew (78), Washington DC | | December 3, 2009 Standard brewery location in a business park. Good sized tasting area with tables and chairs. Glassware and other brewania for sale. Only two beers available for tasting/growler sales on this Black Friday. No bottled beer sales from here except for the limited BA brews, a poor business decision imho; maybe they don’t want to bother with it ?... "we don’t want to compete with our retailers" was the response. Good news is they’re open weekdays for growler fills. | trimon77 (1), Florida does not count - explanation | | November 23, 2009 What more can you ask for? They will fill your keg right from their kettles! Great beer, great people and is 5 blocks from my office. They have slick glassware and occasionally have some shirts in.
The place will only get better after they expand into the adjacent space. | | hophead75 (83), Boonton, New Jersey | | November 13, 2009 A relatively accessible warehouse brewery close to I-275. Had Jai Alai, three variations of Maduro (nice!), and Humidor Marshal Zhukov’s imperial stout on for tasting while I was there - all were well made. I was able to take out 750’s of Humidor Maduro and Humidor Marshal Zhukov’s RIS. Both were a very good value at 7 and 10, respectfully. Kudos to Joey - this brewery is exactly what this area needed, and they seem to be doing all the right things.
As for the brewery itself, nice brewing system and a clean tasting area - sell some cool glassware that includes snifters as well as small tulips that would be great for tastings. Will definitely be back next time I am in Tampa. | | JAF737300 (34), Tampa, Florida | | October 3, 2009 A fun place to swing by and grab the latest items that are on growler pour. You can get some wild things that you will not see elsewhere. A must try. | | AgedOak (11), Ohio | | October 2, 2009 [ Updated October 4, 2009 ] A suprise in a warehouse. Read about this place on RB and decided to stop in for a taste. What an interesting place; this puts you right on the ground floor where the action is happening. Staff was just back from GABF after an awarding winning trip. Tried both of the standards but Wayne was also nice enough to dig up a bottle Zhukov’s Impy Stout for the trip home. Would like to revisit when more items are available. | | Mojo33543 (11), , | | September 21, 2009 Open wednesday to friday from 11 to 5 sample a few beer and by a growler | | shawnm213 (42), South Bend, Indiana | | September 11, 2009 warehouse type brewery. Nice to taste beers right next to where the action is. Seabass was very nice and gave us the grand tour. I picked a bad day to come for samples, as it was just after one of their big release parties. The only beers they had available for sampling were regular jai alai and maduro, but these were really good. I bought a shirt, but the wrong one was in the package. So if you buy a shirt, make sure it is the one you think you are buying. Oh well. Overall, it was nice to see the place. Joey was nice enough to sell me a barrel aged big sound even though the release was the night before. This was awesome, and i didn’t expect this. Thanks again! | | satan165 (62), River Grove, Illinois | | September 6, 2009 stopped in for a growler in a weekday and was kindly handled by doug in the brewery who filled my growler and gave me a free bottle of capicho oscuro for free just for driving in! the beer speaks for itself, they’d really have to be nasty for me to give them anything other then the A+ their beers have already earned. | | Ibrew2or3 (161), Safety Harbor, Florida | | September 6, 2009 Easy access brewery right off I275. The wrongly assumed taboo of growlers is de-bunked here. You can consistently get 32 oz or under or 128oz or over of core beers. You can get new treatments almost weekly. No A/C at the moment means hot to sticky conditions 8 months out of the year. Gracious owner/host/brewer, amazing head brewer and tremendous community make this place very special. Oh, almost forgot, the beer is world class too. | | markwise (57), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida | | August 1, 2009 It is a warehouse in Florida, and except for the two weeks of winter we get every year, it is hot and humid. How these guys do it 8 hours a day is a testament to water fountains. The beer is phenomenal, the people will go out of their way to welcome you (they are working while they run the tasting room generally), they will do growlers cheerfully and quickly, and the releases are awesome. Great beer from great guys. Looking forward to seeing them grow. |
