| changeup45 (46), Orlando, Florida | | October 21, 2009 I dig this place. I had a little trouble finding it, gps got me close but I guess not close enough. Good sized bar and seating area, and a sweet outdoor bar/ patio that I didn’t even know was part of Tampa Bay Brewing until someone mentioned it. I love the layout and atmosphere. Service was excellent and staff extremely friendly. Talked with two of them about beer, Florida growler laws, weather, baseball, whatever else, good times. I went for lunch on a Wednesday so it wasn’t busy but I wouldn’t be surprised if the night scene here was cool. Food was solid. Beer selection was pretty good, various styles available and what you’d expect from a good brewpub. I was eyeing the Moosekiller barleywine but since I had a long drive I settled for a pint of Old Elephant Foot IPA, which was very good. I’m kind of jealous, I love brewpubs and we don’t have one like this in Orlando. I’ll have to make it back sometime soon. | | drowland (42), Tallahassee, Florida | | October 11, 2009 I got to TBBC pretty late on a Friday night, about 11:15pm, and they close at 12.
The ambiance seemed nice. I didn’t have much time to inspect the place, but their actual brewing equipment is on display with labels, and you can see the lagering/serving tanks through windows behind the bar... nice.
The service we received was great! The bartender came up to us immediately when we walked in and was very quick about putting together our sample flights. He was also knowledgeable about the beers and knew everything they had on tap at a moment’s notice.
The selection was what you’d expect for a brewpub. They had a ton of their beers, one Cigar City beer, and a couple/few random imports like Hoegaarden... but seriously, go there for their beers!
We didn’t get food when we were there because it was late and the kitchen was closed - no biggie.
The value was average. We got a sample flight which included something like 13 of their beers, plus their rootbeer, plus the Cigar City beer, and it was about 18 bucks. We all gave him a twenty and called it even... not bad.
Overall, a must visit place while in Tampa! | | JAF737300 (34), Tampa, Florida | | October 3, 2009 The beer is outstanding and the food has become fantastic. The specials on Fridays are a must try. The menu is pub grub driven but the specials are serious restaurant fare! The staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. A great place for lunch, dinner, or just a beer. | | patsfan13 (10), Cocoa, Florida | | August 26, 2009 Stopped in with a couple of friends of mine. We where on a road trip to pick up brew supplies for one of them. I enjoyed the visit alot. Wasnt enough time to taste everything completly but what I did taste was very good. Will make it back soon. | | opkutech (13), Wisconsin | | August 10, 2009 The food was wonderful although a bit pricy for the small ammount on the plate. The beer was above average but I would’t call it the best I’ve ever had. The bartender was very friendly and over all I enjoyed my stay and will go there again. | | Slabjacker (34), | | August 10, 2009 Nice little neighbourhood to visit in this part of Tampa. The TBBC is tucked back from the road so keep your eyes open if you’re driving by. They have a patio with taps set up in an outdoor hut to keep patrons happy with quick service. We opted to eat inside, which was ok, though a little dusty and dark. I ordered a stout and a burger; both were decent but nothing to write home about. Worth a look at the very least. | | shawnm213 (41), South Bend, Indiana | | August 6, 2009 ybor is a great area to visit in Tampa. One of the few neighborhoods I visited that wasn’t completely surrounded by strip malls and chain restaurants. Brick buildings everywhere. A bunch of shops with old cuban guys in the windows rolling cigars. Tampa bay brewing company had nice outdoor seating. My one complaint was the abundance of flies all of over my beer and table. They had a decent selection, 9 of their beers on tap. You can get 4 oz samples of all 9 beers for $11 (tax and tip not included). The neighborhood is recommended, and TBBC is recommended if you’re in the area. | | drseusszb200 (11), Florida | | May 26, 2009 food is decent the beer is decent and its in ybor city. good place to go for a decent beer in ybor | | walleye (28), Sterling Heights, Michigan | | May 18, 2009 Was here last year. Got there just after they opened so the place was not crowded. food was good and plenty of it on the plates.
service very good and the beer was above average. Would stop back here again | | boneyfiend (10), Largo, Florida | | April 30, 2009 Good selection of beer brewed on site. Always a pleasant vibe. Whatever they have in the cask is going to be great.
The food is a little pricey but the portions are huge, so it’s not a bad value.
The outdoor patio is nice and the inside is very open and inviting. One of the must-go places when visiting Ybor City. | View Page: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
