Big C Liquors

This is a really nice place. It is located right next to Winn Dixie in Winter Park off of University Boulevard. Inside the place doesn’t look like anything special but they have a nice selection. I think they claim 450 different beers. They sell most of the better beer in singles ranging from your standard 12 ouncer (or 11.2) to the bigger bottles. They’ve got cases of cold beer too and you’ll find nice six and four packs in there. They also have a decent selection of hard liquor. While they aren’t giving the stuff away they seem to be priced where they should be. Competitive with Total Wine and Knightly Spirits, although I’d rate Big C in the middle of those two with Knightly #1. The staff seems friendly and most of the employees seem to know their beer. I definitely recommend Big C Liquors.

Decent place to get some good beer. I work two blocks away and sometimes take friends to this store to help them beer shop if they can’t get across town to Knightly. Staff is friendly.

Nice enough place. The owner knows his stuff, but most of the other employees don’t know the beer. Very nice selection. Not as much as Knightly’s, but great stuffmoderately priced. They have also well priced glassware, $3 for all standard sizes. If I can’t get to Knightly’s this is my stop.

Not a bad store, a fairly large selection, laid out neatly in one aisle of warm singles and coolers. Some of the bottles seemed dusty with faded labels, which is consistent with my experience at some of the smaller stores like this in Florida - I guess they just don’t have the best turnover. But there’s plenty of really nice surprises in here, such as some Lagunitas, the JW Lees cask aged bottles, Ommegedon, etc. For me, this is convenient to my work place and I’ll stop here when I have the chance, but when I have a bigger budget to spend, I’ll be heading to Knightly’s or the Total Wine in Jax, near my house.

Very good selection. Probably have 100+ singles, including some stuff I’ve never seen before. They have all the standards (Rogue, DFH, etc.) but also some very unique and limited release stuff. Pricing was average. I picked up some DFH Fort, Fullers Vintage, Hebrew Genesis 10:10, Ayinger Celebrator, and Calva Reserva. They had a bunch of other stuff I wanted to get, but my fridge is overflowing, so I’ll have to go back. They even had RateBeer tags on some of their beers. Overall, very good store.

Great selection. Pretty much have everything you could want that’s available in the area with few exceptions. I’ve encountered a handful of workers and one is very polite and helpful and the rest are laid back/indifferent depending on how you look at it. They have some good cheap glassware too. A must stop if you’re in the area.

Great selection of hard to find beers and good prices. Lots of Dogfish Heads. Staff could be more knowledgable as one was rude and gave me wrong information. Other than the service, a great to buy beer!

Selection was good. Had more beers than most stores do. I was told this place had over 600 beers but Big C’s advertises they have 450. Went looking for some rare beers and staff was not helpful giving us wrong information and not offering much help. Have heard that there are some staff members who are helpful. I will go there again, mainly if I know what I am looking for or if I want to test their selection out.

Staff was friendly. Definitely alot of wasted space that they could use because the store is pretty big. Selection is pretty good for a retail store. I work at Knightly Spirits so I wasnt blown away by any means. Was disappointed in the knowledge of the staff but they seemed like they were at least willing to learn. They definitely needed a little training though. Found a few bottles that we were sold out on and I was looking for so that was nice. That was my main purpose for the visit. I wish we had the space they do at our store, we would be unstopppable!! Overall not a bad store at all.
