GodOfThunder (5), Orlando, Florida does not count | | September 29, 2008 The best bar in Orlando. That’s all that needs to be said. As if the owner, Redlight (Brent), doesn’t do an amazing job getting great beers, the rest of the RateBeer crowd in the place is always coming up with great things to taste. There’s no other bar I’d rather be in Orlando. | | Headbanger (27), Aurora, Illinois | | September 18, 2008 A very quaint little place that I went to to try the Hebrew Messiah Bold on tap but were out of. Tried Left hand Twin Sisters and was very happy. Great service and the bottle selection was outstanding. A little hard to find but worth it. | | mabel (71), Toronto, Ontario | | September 14, 2008 Visited in December 2007, this small and quaint-like pub upstairs plays some mellow cool tunes and packs a mean tap or nine. Selection is mouth-watering, not to mention the bottles the Mr. Redlight keeps on hand. No food but we ordered from Dexter’s across the street and they let us eat in there. Service was very knowledgeable and courteous and generous, something of an anomaly, and while it was not busy, they were also quite helpful. Overall, I’d be pretty stoked to have a pub like this down the road, and yes, it’s definitely worth looking for when you’re outside on the street below wondering where the heck it is.
Overheard: ’’Y’all better rate this place a fxcking 20 ’cuz this guy fxcking ROCKS.’’ (Referring to Mr. Redlight himself, and not entirely an inaccurate description either.) | | kiefdog (58), Tampa, Florida | | August 31, 2008 Visited on a recent trip to Orlando in late July. I agree with many of the posts that this place can be hard to locate, but I have heard that the owner is relocating to a larger venue on the west side of Orlando. At any rate, this bar is a second story apartment that has been converted to an outstanding beer bar. Very dark inside even at 500pm on a weekday afternoon when they opened. Small tap selection, but most of those taps are things that you will not find just about anywhere else. Bottle selection is also somewhat small, but again, contains some serious beers that would satisfy the discerning connoisseur. Interesting ambiance, interesting music, interesting people yes, this beer bar is likely worth the hype. | killedge (6), Miami, Florida does not count | | August 21, 2008 I had been trying to go to Redlight Redlight every time I have been in Orlando over the last two years but never seemed to make it. I’m glad I finally did! The place is very hard to find but well worth the hassle. I had to drive back to Miami so I only had a chance to have one beer but the selection was great and the bartenders knowledge of their products was great. I can’t wait to go back and be able to spend some time there. A must hit place if you’re ever in Orlando... or in Florida in general. | | BeerVirgin72 (55), C-Bus, Ohio | | June 15, 2008 Wow. What a place. I would have never found it without my personal tourguide to alert me. Very eclectic mix of patrons...I didnt really dig the unisex bathroom. HAH...But that was my ONLY complaint. Brent was so very generous and I met a lot of nice people and tried some GREAT beers. Never before been anywhere where they open and generously share bottles of Lost Abbey. This is a must hit place. That is, if you can find it! | Floridadude (1), does not count | | May 18, 2008 Great Place, great service, selection and prices. I look forward to my next trip there. | | SHIG (52), Oberoffligen, Germany | | May 10, 2008 A true dimond in the rough. Lucky for us we looked up to the second floor because we had a hard time locating it. Once inside we were not dissappointed this small but beer packed place to drink. You will not find those swill macros and you must have cash to drink. This is where my bachelor party started and I was very pleased to say I have been to the famous Redlight Redlight! | porter4porter (1), Florida does not count | | March 26, 2008 Great place, strange hours and cash only (which they aren’t too upfront about), best beer bar in Orlando and I venture to say one of the best you could find anywhere | | BBB63 (90), La Porte , Indiana | | March 14, 2008 The little place that could. Small upstairs local bar makes up for the lack of style with a shocking great beer selection. Brent gets beer not normally found in FLA. Off street parking and cash only. No food. Cant wait to see what he can do with a bigger place later this year. | View Page : 1 2 3 4
