| fiulijn (180), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy | | January 22, 2008 It looks like a (once smokey) dark English pub. I can’t deny that in the paris beer sadness, this place deserves at least to be listed. I think that the Chouffe on draught is a rare thing here. There are maybe less bottles than 200. As said below here, it may be a place for a stop, but not to look for French rarities. | | KnutAlbert (129), Oslo, Norway | | October 5, 2006 All right for Paris, I guess, with a range of draft and bottled beers. Beer from Belgium, Germany , Quebec etc. as well as France. Not many French rarieties, though. | | TBone (114), Pori, Finland | | July 30, 2005 Beer list looked long but they really didn’t have so many. Ok place to rate some French - prices are sky-high for them as everywhere in Paris. | | Crosling (70), Loveland, Colorado | | October 6, 2004 [ Updated January 23, 2005 ] It is a beer bar and one of the finest in Paris. Located on one of my favorite streets in Paris: Rue St. Denis. It is interesting to note that is down the street from a beer bar of lesser excellence, that being Au Trappiste.
The beer list is very extensive, about 200, many of which are not on the menu. While I was here I had La Guillotine from Huyghe, Maredsous 10 from Moorgat and then went crazy and had two fantastic 1999 Thomas Hardy’s. They also had about 12 beers on draft including La Chouffe.
Comfortable and lively atmosphere. The booths were large. Open air, both inside and outside. The staff was very friendly and even said, oh do I dare say it, yes, they said &quo;thanks&quo; when we left! In French ofcourse. Some of the waitresses were absolutely gorgeous.
I’ll be back.
