Original thoughts Apr 18, 2006 ------- The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired. It’s pretty small and loud. It’s definitely more of a sports bar, but if you’re into that thing then you’d probably like it a lot more than I do. The quality and freshness of the beer has always been good for me and things look like they’re kept up well. The reason I will keep coming back to this place is the food and beer selection. This place has an astounding selection when you consider its location. This is hands-down the best beer bar in the Helen area. It also has some of the best food. They also have a really nice bottle selection with stuff from American micros (my brother had the Stoudt’s winter seasonal last time) and several Belgians, if the draft beers don’t cut it for you. Overall, this is definitely a must-visit whenever you’re in Helen! Re-rate 1/26/2007 ---- I have been here several times since my initial rating (most recently yesterday) and am still impressed. Service has been a little better the past few times. Food’s still good. Prices are semi-high, but the beer selection is completely unparralled in Northeast GA. On-tap highlights were all current Terrapin beers, Dale’s Pale Ale, and stuff like Hoegaarden, Lindemans Framboise, etc. Still Top Notch for the area!
