CheersMate1 (7), Atlanta, Georgia does not count | | November 11, 2007 This place is spotty at best. The beers have dust all over them. Also, half of the six packs are missing beers. I don’t know if they are trying to prevent theft by doing this, or if their employees are having a great time at work. Their beer selection is decent, but it is not at all comparable to their location in Cumming. The Cumming store simply dominates the Jax franchise. One last remark, when I bought my Hop Devil I found out that the beer had expired many months ago. Avoid this store, but if you must visit make sure you are getting a product that hasn’t been there past its expiration date. | | Cybercat (30), Georgia | | June 1, 2007 Very nice store for beer lovers. I didn’t pay much attention to other liquors, but their beer selection is fantastic. Also, you can get single bottles of a lot of brewskis, as well as samplers of such brands as Tommyknocker and Mendocino. Personnel are friendly, alert and helpful. I have shopped here many times and not been disappointed. The fact that they already have Victory beers in stock - as well as a number of offerings from Dogfish Head - speaks well for them. Best of all, they are convenient to MARTA so unless you’re getting a whole bunch of beer or something big like a twofer you don’t have to drive. | | UofFkid (29), Orlando, Florida | | May 24, 2007 Always busy, always friendly. Great selection. One of the only places in GA I found that sells Mirco singles! | | Sombeast (20), Pewaukee, Wisconsin | | December 28, 2006 Adddress is wrong, it’s 5901 Snady Springs. Drove around lost and ended up going to Jax and one of the two Greene’s. I did pick up a bottle of De Ranke XX-bitter that I didnt’ see anywhere else in the area, but outside of a few oddballs the selection wasn’t that great. Given my limited time I’m sure I would have been much better off going to both Greene’s instead of Jax and a Greene’s. | | unclemattie (90), Georgia | | August 14, 2006 I don’t like this place. Plus they have a cooler full of ice at the front door and plastic cups. For Roadies. Not cool. The little selection that they had was dusty. How long has it been there neglected? Who cares, I left. | | TheBeerOrg (34), Kentucky | | May 17, 2006 I cannot recommend this store for buying good beer. They sell liquor and wine, and their beer sits on the shelves and collects dust. Getting dusty are the likes of Chimay, Rogue, and other Belgian selections. You would think they would lower the price to try and move some product, but I have to agree with harlequinn, this place is a shithole. To their credit, they have only a few beers that Green’s does not stock, some of which have been quite good. They also allow customers to split up six packs, which has allowed me to try many beers that I wouldn’t want to buy a six pack. Too many bottles are well past their prime, and because of that, this place sucks for beer. | | harlequinn (114), Tacoma, Washington | | January 14, 2006 This place is a shithole waiting to be sold, but they do break up six packs and sell singles, one of the only places in Atlanta. Worth popping into if you are already going to Summits or 5 Seasons. | | CaptainCougar (128), Rockville, Maryland | | December 15, 2005 Their main advantage is that they, unlike any other ATL area store, sell singles. Other than that, I don’t think they carry anything you can’t find at Greens. | | PorterPounder (160), Tallahassee, Florida | | October 18, 2005 Small, unassuming liqour store just off 285 up the road from 5 Seasons and Summit Wayside Tavern. Has a decent selection of Belgians, some British imports and a few micros from around the country. Nothing to blow you away - but they do sell singles - which is a huge plus. Able to pick up about a dozen or so singles I had not yet rated here. Worth a stop if in north Atlanta. | | BückDich (218), Boise, Idaho | | October 10, 2005 Small ghetto liquor store, bars in the windows. Turn stalls to get in, yeah, that kinda place. Fairly decent selection of beers, vaguelly organized, some in coolers, some out in the open. Can split 6ers, which is heavenly in Atlanta. Decent selection of liquor and wine as well. Not bad! | View Page : 1 2
