Namako (7), APO AE, does not count - explanation | | August 30, 2009 Very nice brewery/restaurant/hotel near Hohenfels. I arrived in Germany in May 2007, and within just a few days (that first weekend), I had made my way to this hotel on a business trip. They served up my first Munich dunkel (Kupfer Spezialbier), and I was forever hooked. I purchased a case of this brew, and I continue to do so each time I pass through Amberg (about 3-4 times a year). They also brew up a wide variety of beers, and even provide them in gift packs through one of the outlet stores located there in the hotel. The food is wonderful, and the hotel rooms are very clean. This is where I ALWAYS go whenever I’m in the area. | | Beershine (261), Where Climate Suits My Clothes, Vietnam | | June 19, 2009 Great big beer garden with lots of big trees and in the shadows of the 1617 building. | | Oakes (421), gone rambling, Vietnam | | June 11, 2009 Happy biergarten out back. The Winkler beers are ok, but the Schiessl beers are better and they’re only a couple of doors down. | | Bierkrug (87), Idar-Oberstein (temp in DC), Germany | | September 2, 2008 Good place with a renevated pub inside. Nice beers and food. Gift shop is is a case. Beer is quite good as most of Ambergs Breweries. | | Ungstrup (245), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | September 5, 2007 A very light and clean bierstube with good acustics. Not many patrons on a Monday afternoon. Friendly staff. 3 beer on draft, 3 own beers in bottles as well as 1 from Bruckmüller. | | Quack-Duck (98), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany | | August 4, 2007 Brewery with shop in the historic centre of Amberg. Friendly staff, all of their beers available, including their Schiessl brews, which theiy brew for the former Schiessl brewery of Amberg. Restaurant nearby, but I haven’t tried it. |
