Nice garden area. Even though rather packed the feeling was rather quiet. The few beers had here were both in very good condition. Service was at times rather slow, and the paying part was rather tricky, so it already ran through my mind to just start walking away...

4 different beers Avaliable. Small and quiet place. We ate inside since the Biergarden was packed. Fine service. Smiling waitress who spoke a little english and were avaliable the whole time we were there. Solid Scnitzel - nothing major. Beers are good. A must visit if in Bamberg.

Old school. The inside areas are for grandpas. The small patio out back is pretty nice, and right next to the brewing facilities. I like how it’s right across from Fassla, makes the brewpub tours easy. However, the Spezial Keller (associated by family with the brewery itself) is a way better place to enjoy your beer.

Pretty little biergarten out back. The beer is still not my favourite around town, though the Marzen was ok. Kind of a middlin’ place, not good at any particular thing.

had dinner and a beer . Really friendly and acccomadting versus the other one in town. of course the selectionis not broad but it "Spezial".

Visited a few times in 2006. If I knew I would die tomorrow, I might fly here tonight. I love their beers (4 available, 2-3 on gravity), the interior is exquisite, the food simple but perfectly matches the beer. I would kill for their wurst salad with a smoked lager. This place is it!

Our first visit while walking into Bamberg from the bahnhof, right across the street is Fassla. Spezial has a small open seating area in the center of the building. Available beer is the rauchbier marzen, ungespundet and rauchbier weiss. A quick meal of bratwurst, currywurst, kraut and pommes frites with a couple of well-made rauchbier and it’s a really good start to your day.

A small, dark bar in downtown Bamberg. I enjoyed some nice smoked lager, and schnopps. Service is typical of Germany- quick and efficient, but not too friendly. A nice place, overall certainly worth a visit.

Visited on a wet Wednesday afternoon in November, but it was still pretty busy in the main room. My Rauchbier arrived within seconds of sitting down thanks to a very efficient waiter. Great wood panelling and hunting decorations. Highly recommended.

Great place that we almost skipped, because it was completely full when we got there for dinner. The décor in the small section we eventually found a seat was similar to a hunting lodge, with plenty of trophies on the wall, mixed along with old pictures of the brewing heritage of this site. They had more then just one Beer available, including a Wit, the Rauchbier and the unfiltered lager, which I enjoyed the most. Food was pretty good, obviously with very large plates at decent prices. Efficient and friendly service. I’d recomend this place over any other in Bamberg. Sure, Schlenkerla is nicer looking, but the atmosphere here is brought on more by the patrons and staff rather than just what’s on the walls.
