Nice location, very crowded on the small terrace while inside was all empty. Small selection, but St. Georgenbräu beers were represented and in good condition. Otherwise nothing very special here.

Nothing is notable about this place except one thing: the best pour of St. Georgenbrau Kellerbier. And that is a very important thing!

Touristy spot, mostly notable for a great patio location and some outstandingly fresh St. Georgenbrau Kellerbier. If you’re not going to Buttenheim, stop here to see how good this beer can be.

This is no beerspot. It is just a nice restaurant and accidentaly they have Georgen brau. In that case there are a lot more beerspots in Bamberg and around.

Allright, beautiful located in the touristic part of Bamberg. The food was standard German pubfood, which I like, but doesn’t match the quality of a good restaurant. As a beer place, the only reason could be those Georgen Brau beers, but I’ve had them at other places as well. As a place on Ratebeer, this place just sucks big time.

The mirrored owl, the owl’s mirror, the..,.. oh forget it. Enjoyed one of the best days of my life and until today the best beer of my life here so it cannot be all bad. Bar maid wasn’t much for serving me and my wife, my broken Deutsch-English not quite conveying how great the beer and meal was. Nice long bar, sport it’s main feature as we visited on World Cup time, but there wasn’t a rowdy prick or complaining ol’ nag amongst us, all patrons were lovely people. Meal was wonderful, sparked up Franconian fare. Two tiered, toilets in back, slim-lined, but perfectly located just beyond the Altes Rathaus, which links the two-sides of the ’Bourgeois’ on the Regnitz (built in the middle of the river as the Bishop of the time refused to honour land to the people. Love thy neighbour, hey?), leading down into the shopping district of the north. Many outside, not too many in - to agree with Eithcubes. Bar curved around to meet a hidden wall, yet all chose to sit in the Summer sun. Don’t blame them, beautiful to play it down, and this bar serving Buttenheim’s finest, though not strictly local, was even better. Very nice!!!!

Inside was empty save for me, porch was crowded - location is pretty fantastic. Decor is a „hip“ take on tradition, save for the series of Eulenspiegel figures adorning the many-mirrored walls. Food was OK, as was the service, only reason to go is the St. Georgenbräu brews sold here.

This restaurant right off the Altes Rathaus has the highest prices I’ve seen in Bamberg for a beer (just under 3 euros a pint). However, it’s probably the only place in town which serves 3 or 4 Sankt-Georgen-Bräu beers on tap. They also have smaller servings, which is rare in these parts. The food was a little fancier than the typical German Gaststätte, or at least the traditional dishes were done with a touch of pizzazz. The apfelküche makes a decadent dessert.
