| Oakes (422), Kowloon, Hong Kong | | July 23, 2009 Good place to find a country beer or two. The menu is okay - Fred Waltman likes the blaue zipfel but we haven’t seen it there yet. Too bad. It’s a pretty relaxed place for a pint and the country beer is usually in good shape. Service is fine. | | Beershine (268), Traipsing Around, Cambodia | | June 23, 2009 Very nice place with a modern but chilled out atmosphere. Loud (in a good way) on weekends, good vibes and happy times. Menu is mainly snacks but a good variety of them and good portions. Late night place, and one of the only places in town to drink good beer late at night too. | | MartinT (348), Montreal, Quebec | | May 26, 2006 [ Updated June 17, 2006 ] A tiny pub on the way up Stephansberg, which served Brauerei zur Sonne’s Lagerbier when I was there, as well as Keesman’s ubiquitous Herren Pils. They purportedly serve Brauerei Eichhorn’s (Dörfleins) Kellerbier sometimes as well. Mönchsambacher Weizenbier was there in bottles for weizen lovers. Atmosphere is very cozy since the place is relatively small, but gets loud and boisterous on weekend evenings because it gets packed rather quickly. Apart from the one country beer served at a time, this place is a convenient visit because you will encounter it when you go up to Spezial Keller, Mahr’s Keller, and Wilde Rose Keller. It also closes later than most bars in town, so you can finish your evening here after the aforementioned kellers have closed (usually at 11pm). |
