| acrdz (544), Boulder, Colorado | | June 21, 2006 [ Updated December 30, 2007 ] This isn’t a real places rating, just information I found while in Koln. I spent the better part of an hour walking around looking for this place, should have known it used to be located where the scaffolding and construction was, right across the street from the Dom. THIS PLACE WAS BOUGHT OUT BY GAFFEL, so it no longer exists - to be put in it’s place is another Gaffel Haus. | | Indra (47), Prairie Village, Kansas | | November 2, 2004 Echoing the previous written opinion, fairly large and impressive, appropriately "period" decor for its location -- the convenience of which should not be overlooked if visting the Dom. I came here to drink an authentic Kölsch beer, and Kölsch beer I received. Attentive staff. Fairly bustling with customers. | | DanielBrown (73), Birmingham (via Leicester), England | | February 24, 2004 The Gilden Brauhaus in Cologne, and as the name suggests, this is bang opposite the Dom. A pretty big, and very efficient place, but lacking slightly in character, and the stools weren't the comfiest in the World. Don't expect choice, it's Gilden or Coke! Having said that, it should definitely be included on a beer tour of Cologne. |
