15 reviews for Andechser am Dom
RedhawkFIN (8), , Finland does not count - explanation | | October 25, 2009 If you don’t have the time to travel to the monastry get at least the typical beers (Helles, Dunkel and Weissbier) here. Small and crowded place (quite typical Beerhall in Germany really). Food seemed good. | | Beershine (268), Traipsing Around, Cambodia | | July 14, 2009 Very convenient way to get a fix of the beers if there is no time for the monastery. It’s a nice, traditional, large place with lots of seating options: a sprawling sidewalk patio, a smoker atrium, upstairs and down...Having said that, the am Dom outlet has nothing on the monastery. In fact, the beers were not in great form when we were at am Dom, whereas they were much fresher from the Nurnberg tap! | villevav (8), , Finland does not count - explanation | | July 10, 2009 Much smaller than HB or Augustiner, and a lot less crowded too. Good service and reasonable prices. I cannot comment on the food, but the beer was clearly of the better south-german brews. | | ogivlado (145), Zagreb, Croatia | | August 27, 2008 Medium sized place right behind Marienplatz. I was there on Tuesday around 2 p.m. and there was plenty of free tables. Lots of religiously picturs and paintings on the walls and ceiling. On each table are excellent spicy mini sausages for free. Unfortunately Andechser Jubiläumsbier Dunkel Naturtrüb is no longer avaliable. | | Immy (88), Virginia Beach, Virginia | | August 7, 2008 Nice little place right behind the Dom. Sat outside, couldn’t sit inside if we wanted to, it was so packed. That was fine by us! Excellent service and delicious food, but really you’re there for the beer, which is lovely! | | ¾ (631), Boulder, Colorado | | June 4, 2008 Sort of had a modern feel to it, with a small bar section where a rowdy crowd was watching a football match, then a restaurant side that was sparsely population, then an outdoor patio area that was full. The beer quality, of course, is excellent, and should be the reason to visit. Fresh Andescher Doppelbock Dunkel from the keg is pure magic, and the helles is respectable as well. | | Fin (99), Merton, England | | January 28, 2008 This place was recomended by both the Good Beer Guide to Germany and also a group of thre Germans who we met in the nearby Ratskeller who said it was their favourite beer. The beers which I had were all very good indeed, atmosphere was more like that of an English pub than Barvarian, was busy both on the Thursday night when we went here and almost as busy the following lunchtime. Great location next to the Cathedral (easy to find) and staff were really friendly and by heck do they work hard. Member of staff who served me seemed particularly impressed that I had the Good Beer Guide to Germany and was asking for one of their very difficult to find beers. | | pivnizub (273), Bochum, Porúří, Germany | | January 22, 2008 Quite noble Gasthaus, compared to the Hofbräuhaus.... a good place for thosewho want to sample the Andechser beers from the tap. Sometimes the quite rare Andechser Jubiläum (unfiltered) is available here. Good place.............. | | gnoff (127), Göteborg, Sweden | | August 12, 2007 Found this in "Good Beer Guide Germany" by Steve Thomas and made my way there during my third evening in Munich to try some beers. Had four different ones from the tap while talkig to some young Italian ladies that also were enjoying the beers of the place. Did no eat. Very cozy around the church in the sort of "inner yard" feeling. | | alebrewer (11), Mentor, Ohio | | May 6, 2007 April 2007 - Nice small corner bar with limited seating inside and 2 outdoor seating areas. Fresh Andechser bier makes it a must stop, located at the foot of the Frauenkirche. |
