capoccetta (5), roma, Italy does not count - explanation | | December 22, 2009 un posto molto caratteristico dove si mangia anche bene. la birra non è eccezionale come anche il servizio, comunque soddifacente. | | Bierkrug (87), Idar-Oberstein, Germany | | September 2, 2008 The eating area is one of the largest I have ever been to. The beer its self is middle of the road but the food is great. A little tip if you bring a group and order a 5 or 10 litter wooden keg which they put right on your table and you can tap it yourself complete with hammer. Place makes for a lot of fun for sure. | | mullet (133), Melbourne, Australia | | January 31, 2008 Massive place, as mentioned below. They actually have some pretty cool old brewery stuff in there. Beers weren’t as bad as I was expecting - certainly not the best in the area, but quite serviceable. Service was very slow and we were ordered to stop playing cards for some reason. Pricks. Definitely not an essential stop but it’s not too bad. | | bierkoning (173), La Tropica, Netherlands | | December 29, 2006 Slowish service by an attractive blonde girl. Beer is OK, nothing special. Huge brewpub, a bit cave-like with British brewery signs (not original), strange in a German brewpub. Not far from Zentralbahnhof, so worth the trip if you have an hour or so left in between trains. | | larsga (108), Oslo, Norway | | September 25, 2005 Not a bad place, kind of modern-looking, kind of stylish, if somewhat weird. Absolutely huge, with lots of people. Beers are unremarkable. Didn’t try the food. Worth a visit if you’re standing just outside it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place. (In fact, I’d recommend white wine at the Heilig Geist Spital over this place any time.) | | ChristianSA (17), Copenhagen, Denmark | | August 21, 2005 The slogan is "The small brew house - the large experience" - small apparently relative, because, with enough room to seat 600 people, it is by far the largest brewpub I have ever been into.
Huge room, with at least 6 metes to the ceiling and with a strange mixed interior of German and British decor. Two relatively mainstream, and not entirely flawless beers. The service was professional and not unfriendly at all, albeit a bit slow, considering the very small number of guests. I Tried their pork and dumplings in beer sauce, and it was pretty good without being exceptional. Their kraut, however, was among the best I have tasted. |
