A fairly new brew pub that is still finding its feet. Rather foody and trendy but worth a visit if you are in the area. Serves Meantime beers as well as their own on tap.

caesar | Located in a nice area in London, Borough Market. At least, that is on saterday morning. So, that’s the time I chose to visit this place. Unfortunately none of their own beers on tap, and a lot of others were not on as well. Reasonably large selection of Belgian beers, however: the bad ones. How is this possible, when there are enough goodies to choose from? Decent food, though expensive. Still decent place to visit, because of the outside atmosphere on saturdays.

FatPhil | Noisy, and characterless. Only 2 unique ticks, no idea what the selection of the other beers was like. Almost Nordicly expensive. Left with haste after ticking what I thought were pretty mediocre beers, just didn’t like the place.

| GuideDogSaint | Brewpub so expect 2 or 3 of ther own beers. Reasonable foreign beer list and also Meantime. Problem is it’s ludicrously expensive, especially considering the much better places within walking distance.

fiulijn | I was there sometimes in 2006, I guess that those were the begin of the activity there. SO there were only 2 beers available on tap, and already some good bottle. I haven’t been impressed by the food neither.

martinboer | Okay. This place has really gotten much better. Was through here last week and they now have Dark star and Meantime on tap. The food is okay, if pricey, but that’s London. Service was very friendly and I even got two free (small) beers when the waitress realizes I was tasting quite a few...

ogivlado | Very crowed, lots of people (including myself) were standing because there was no place to sit. Average brew pub in small alley just minute away from Borough Market. Looks like closed old metro station. Much more than 20 bottled beers, which surely come from nearby Utobeer.

Magic_dave6 | Basicly part of the market as its on the same street. Took us about 10 mins to get nserved as staff kept running away to clear tables or something, liek there was enough staff but only 1 serving the 20 people at the bar or so for the most part while the manager stood at the end of the bar insted of serving himself. Selection is very good, would be the best in scotland if it was here, noteably expensive for bottled stuff, ie boon gueuze marage parfait was £7:50 a 375ml bottle. A place thats defo worth visiting but not really somewhere you would stay long.

JoeMcPhee | Very upscale, sort of trendy place with lots of polished wood and brass. Strangely has long communal benches that are more Bavarian in style. A few good taps and a large (albeit expensive) bottle list. The Meantime taps were good as were the few cask ales that they had on. I didn’t eat here (and neither were most other people the few times I was in). Either way, it’s worth stopping into after you’ve exhausted the selection at the Market Porter.

Flyer | A pretty good place, at least in terms of selection, for a country that’s not quite in the U.S.’s league yet when it comes to craft beer. (Don’t send me a message! The UK is on it’s way, really!) On entering you notice the high ceilings, polished fixtures, and nice wooden floors very nice, but it does send up a warning flag: more for the pretty people than true aficionados. One bartender continued to dry glasses even after he saw me waiting at the bar, and when he served me, he demonstrated no particular beer knowledge. The house brews looked uninspiring, but they had a pretty good selection overall, including a full line-up of Meantime beers, which I’ve been waiting to try. I had the stout, and it was good, nice and roasty. The Rake, nearby, is a better bet for true aficionados, but this is still a good place to go for some food and some good beer choices.

Rastacouere | Worth a stop, they seem to be experimenting a bit because they had this cascade beer when I was there and it was actually pretty well executed. The prices seemed very steep though, even for London, but since you’re gonna go to Southwark anyway, you should definitely step in.
