Often crowded, this large Victorian corner pub is a rare central London outlet for the excellent McMullens beers.

| hughie (17), Bedford, England | | December 19, 2007 Disappointed to find just the three handpumps: AK, Country Bitter and McMullen Cask Ale. Food was pretty good. I had bacon and brie baguette. The lady had Cajun Chicken burger. Quite liked the interior. | | Ungstrup (209), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | December 5, 2007 Nicely decorated, but overly crowded on a Friday late afternoon. The service was lousy - served me the wrong beer at first. Not a place to go, if You’ve had a few McMullen beers - only 1 new tick for me here. | | Nejhleader (53), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania | | November 27, 2007 pretty busy when i went. maybe a few reasonable beers on tap, but hardly worth the stop. didn’t try the food, but its english food so it can’t be that good anyway. | | JoeMcPhee (202), Jackson Heights, New York | | November 1, 2007 Very busy, very packed place. Lots of space though you’d never know it. A small selection of McMullen beers, but it’s pretty well kept. I’d suggest stopping in mid-week when it’s less crowded and you can actually get to the bar. On the other hand, if your lady is still looking at perfume and jewellery in the market, this is a great place to duck into. | DownsouthGav (3), , England does not count | | October 10, 2007 Not impressed really. Typical tourist set up plus McMullen’s aren’t really that nice. | | pivnizub (216), Porúří, Germany | | October 1, 2007 Average english pub in the heart of the city, only three cask ales from McMullen. A quite good place for a quick fizz while walking the tourist trails, but not a place to spend a whole evening. | | jbrus (84), Delft, Netherlands | | August 11, 2007 In the hart of the tourist area. Quite large. The interior is classic english, not really my kind. Too clean. It was crowded mainly by old people when I was there. Service was ok but busy. They had McMullens cask ales which was nice. | | detroitsteel (23), , England | | July 20, 2007 [ Updated July 27, 2007 ] The standard sort of pub you find in any of London’s tourist areas. Mock Victorian interior that’s none too clean, crowded, mixed bag of tourists, office workers and shoppers. Ok, so they have McMullen’s bitters on tap, but even though they own the house they do not, I repeat DO NOT do the seasonal! They also do Erdinger on tap, but these days that’s not a rarity. No imported bottles. McMullen’s beers aren’t that rare, so it’s not worth making a special effort to go here, unless you’re going to the theatre/opera or waiting for the missus to do her shopping. Why has this got an ’Excellent’ rating? Its not the only place in London that McMullens beers are served, there’s a pub on Cambridge Circus, Spice of Life, that does as well. I forgot to to mention that the service is excellent - bar staff where numerous and friendly. | | bhensonb (244), Woodland, California | | April 16, 2007 The only place in town to score McMullens. Very good, relatively busy pub. And it’s got location, location, location. | | TBone (114), Pori, Finland | | September 17, 2006 I had three McMullens here. Busy and central place. | View Page : 1 2
