49 reviews for Utobeer Market Stall
tdtm82 (6), , England does not count - explanation | | November 14, 2009 Superb market stall in the heart of the Borough market. Extremely bustly area at all times of opening hours. If you like your beer in a quiet environment it is very tricky. Onlly go on a Thursday if you want to go when it’s quiet.
The staff are friendly and informative. Fantastic assistance with knowledge and keen to learn about other beers available and such like. I have found beers from there which otherwise I would have been forced to import.
The best selection of Nogne O in the UK. An amazing Austrian bok selection, great rarer regional ales, Samuel Smith always prominent, a lot of Belgian various styles such as Abbey; blondes and Trappist.
Cantillon and other lambic available too. UK ales are also available and Mikkeller are sold. Brooklyn Brewery specials are also here on the ocasion. Also Stone.
If it was slightly more peaceful and retail priices simiar to online then I would rate it higher. However due to rent in the market I suspectl if is actually pretty good value.
Go here before the Rake or Market Porter. Go on Thursdays. | | yespr (18), Copenhagen O, Denmark | | September 10, 2009 I found it a bit hard to locate, I guess several half pints at Market Porter before doesn’t really help. Located inside the market. Good selection of full range beers from select UK breweries and a wide range of Belgian, US and international beers. I had no problems filling a whole bag with new beers here. | Dragonblaze99 (1), , England does not count - explanation | | August 27, 2009 Let’s face it, if you want a decent selection of beers in London, this is THE place. There is not much service, every time I’ve been visiting the place there has been just 2 guys of whom one is busy shelving bottles and the other at the till. The underlying assumption, I guess, is that once you go there, you know what you want.
Having said all that, they do have a very good selection of beers from various countries, some of which I suspect you can’t get anywhere else in London. Prepare to fork out £££ though... | | Ober (28), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands | | August 23, 2009 A very nice small store on a market at Borough Market. Many and great beers, from all over the world. | | joe19612 (17), camberley, England | | August 16, 2009 Brilliant range of beers, espcially from abroad. | | berkshirejohn (79), Bracknell, England | | June 5, 2009 An amazing selection in a very small space, certainly unmatched in London; in the middle of a very trendy market. Not to be missed. | | maltdog (51), Knoxville, Tennessee | | May 31, 2009 A narrow, shelf-lined niche in Borough market. An impressive selection of bottled beers, far fewer Belgians than I expected, a buttload of German beers and low gravity ales with very uninformative labels from obscure English "country" brewers, and surprisingly a slew of American ales from Rogue, Sierra Nevada, Schmalz, Left Hand, etc... that I’d never even seen anywhere in the States (those particular beers, not their "flagship" products.) I ended up not making a purchase because there wasn’t anything interesting to me that I hadn’t already tried, and the prices were pretty steep. But it is far and away the biggest and most varied selection of beer in greater London. | | madmitch76 (10), , England | | April 16, 2009 The best selection of bottled beer in the South East of England. It really is as simple as that. Open Thursday to Saturday. Good beer representation from all over the world and new stuff always arriving. The staff are great. Rich, Ed, Mike & Al are all very experienced and their expertise is second to none. They are very helpful.
You can make a day of it here as there are plenty of great food stalls in Borough Market and when you are done pop round the corner to Utobeers sister bar the Rake for a splendid draft! | | PJClarke (14), London, England | | March 18, 2009 There is little else to say other than this is an absolutely fabulous stall. | | pivnizub (273), Bochum, Porúří, Germany | | March 11, 2009 Tiny market-stand amidst of the picturesque Borough Market. Well assorted selection of great international beers, quite small, but nevertheless excellent offer of english ales. A must when You are in London, and, don’t forget to complete Your studies with a visit to The Rake - which is literally just a few steps away and run by the same owners. |
