Stayed in a closeby campsite. Unexciting beers but in decent condition. Intriguiing interior. Picture perfect setting on the village green. Staff seem more concerned about those eating - drinkers are second rate.

An enjoyable pub with plenty of atmosphere. Beer is well kept - range is the main regionals. Food is excellent and adventurous. The setting is charming - looking out on the village green as the New Forest ponies nibble the grass. An excellent walk (as described on the back of the menu) takes you up to the unusual local church where Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is buried.
