| nqualls (35), Nashville, Tennessee | | December 22, 2008 [ Updated December 31, 2008 ] Just vacationed to Oahu and this was a must try. There were ten selections of beer on tap including some of the rarer ones. The waitress was prompt and professional. The food was top notch. I really enjoyed their beer and food. Will go back again if I am ever in Oahu. Must visit for all beer lovers going to Hawaii. | | jeremytoni (53), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | October 30, 2008 A nice change if you are in Waikiki. More of a local feel then the bars and restaurants in Honolulu/Waikiki. A good selection of beer and good food. | | shrubber85 (59), Wallhalben, Germany | | October 8, 2008 By far, the best ambiance of the brewpubs on Oahu - sitting on the bay with the tradewinds blowing could make even Milwaukees Best taste good. Beers are all well made. Nice but not spectacular food selection. A great place to relax, watch the sun go down and enjoy your surroundings. | | elihapa (62), Honolulu, California | | July 17, 2008 Really nice place to just sit back, eat dinner, drink good beer, and perhaps catch some quality live Hawaiian music. Quite good pub grub with a local Hawaii flavor. Beer selection on tab is exclusively Kona Brewing, but make sure you ask for their seasonal/special selection . . . I tried their Blowhole Barleywine although it wasn’t on the menu! Overall, definately worth a stop if you are on Oahu for whatever reason. | Shaftie (2), , Florida does not count - explanation | | July 6, 2008 A large-party buffet style event was taking place when I attended. Beer was subpar accross the board with the exception of a the Black Sand porter. The buffet was bad, I’d go again for the porter alone, I believe you can only find this in the two Kona pubs. | castironchef (8), Pearl City, Hawaii does not count - explanation | | April 23, 2008 Noisy and crowded, no reservations taken. Live music is deafening. Service was mediocre, beer selection rarely rotates, but a few microbrews are worth trying: 1) Castaway IPA 2) Lavaman Red Ale 3) Kona Coffee Beer (forget its name). Food was average, and a bit overpriced IMHO. Mostly for tourists and people driving through. Go once, then go home and no need come back. | bwkrieger (1), Lisle, Illinois does not count - explanation | | January 24, 2008 Not that easy to find and the traffic in Oahu is horrible. Server did not know the names of the beers just what kind they were. (Usually it is the other way around) Should of sat at the bar like I normally do, but the wife wanted to sit outside to see the views. Pizza looked great but tasted like a frozen pizza and cost twenty bucks. Overall I was not as impressed as I was hoping, I was looking forward to going here for two weeks!. It is a must stop though since there is not much else beer wise going on around here. | | BrewDad (239), Olympia, Washington | | January 24, 2008 [ Updated September 11, 2008 ] 10 taps of great beer, a view and atmosphere that is almost the best ever. This place also has great service and food. I loved this place the beers where the best on the Island. Wow Kona has some great experimental brews also. I wish I could bring them back to the mainland they would just kick ass. A great place for lunch and or dinner. They also have great happy hour prices. A must stop in Honolulu. Just need to be diligent in finding it. A tad rough in finding it tucked back in the marina area. KONA Rocks. And as they say – “Liquid Aloha.” | | hopdog (197), Lansdale, Pennsylvania | | November 11, 2007 10 beers on tap. They sell samplers of 4 (your choice of which ones). Pizzas where great. Nice location on the dock. Some beers better than others, but on Hawaii, it really doesn’t get better than this - so stop by! | | padrefan98 (34), (San Diego) Santee, California | | July 20, 2007 Pretty good beer with amazing dock ambiance. Couldnt quite get into the mood with two other cool beer belching buddies. Nice place. Saw some locals enjoying sushi and beer. |
