| hombrepalo (44), Chicago, Illinois | | November 10, 2009 Hit this place up befor the FoBAB 2009 for brunch, compleatly empty, just me and my 8 buddies. Looks large and black, has room for concerts, could be cool I guess. 15 or so taps, nothing outragous same with the bottle selection. Just a safe selection I would say. The food was pretty good, I had the breakfest burritio at 7.50 thought it was reasonable. Service was O.k.one person in. she hooked up a few of my buddies with samples. Overall just an O.k. place... | | NobleSquirrel (55), Chicago, Illinois | | June 30, 2009 I really do not like this place. it’s large and obnoxious. It just felt wrong and too vacant to be a quality venue. The beer selection left something to be desired, though I did have a very nice GI IPA. Do not recommend. | | kiplog (15), Evanston, Illinois | | February 23, 2009 17 decent taps (and Lite), lots and lots of bottles, lots and lots of room - haven’t been upstairs yet in the music venue or rum bar (Volcano Room with a huge rum list). Nothing really rare or unusual on tap - just a decent selection. Includes representation from all the regional locals, Europeans like Bitburger, Hirter Dark, Belgium is represented by a Maredsous, and there’s a Beamish and a cider too.
Really good pulled pork sandwich and friendly staff - including a bartender who really knew her beer. A few beer events are on their calendar.
I’ll be interested in how often they rotate taps and how this fairly new place evolves.
