| Walt (184), Chicago, Illinois | | June 15, 2008 Pretty great beer list...this seems to be the best selection in the area...Founders Kentucky Breakfast, DFH, and some other goodies....loud and busy | | kseecs16 (93), Westmont, Illinois | | April 23, 2007 [ Updated August 21, 2008 ] Pretty good beer selection on tap and bottles. Food is a good value though nothing amazing. Nice Irish pub atmosphere and a nice ilttle patio out front. Service was good, but not beer oriented. | | doubelknv3 (20), Illinois | | March 8, 2007 Decent for the area. Farily good value for the food. Decent selection of drafts, but staff were not very confident in their beer Knowledge. | | SubstanceT (110), Saint Louis, Missouri | | January 30, 2007 Food is pretty good and worth the trip. For Peoria this is definately a place to check out for a meal. Beer selection is better than average for the are. | jew02 (5), Peoria, Illinois does not count - explanation | | January 2, 2007 Nice remodeled warehouse. The menu contains a lot of what I understand to be traditional Irish fare (bangers and mash, Guinness stew). The selection of beer ontap changes with the seasons and includes the major Irish stouts. Great quiet atmosphere. | dlclark (1), Bloomington, Illinois does not count - explanation | | January 24, 2006 My wife and I tried Kellehers on 1/23/06. We will be back. This is now our favorite place in central, IL. I had roast beef sandwich which was simmered in beer and had crushed red pepper. My wife had a sausage sandwich. Everything was great. Draft selection has somehting for everyone, hopheads, belgiums, irish stout. I highly recommend this place. | | barleyPops (54), Quad-Cities, Illinois | | December 16, 2005 I’ll echo Phil’s comments, great food at an amazingly low price! We didn’t get here until 8:45pm on a Thursday night, the place was quite busy and kind of noisey, yet we were seated right away and at a table where we could talk easily. Kelleher’s must have taken Phil’sl suggestion for a beer list as our server offered one up right away. About 20 taps, which must rotate as they had Leinenkugals Apple Spice, Winters Cask Aged Ale, Bell’s Two Hearted, Delirium Noel, Schlafly Winter ESB and I went with a Schlafly Imperial Stout. Also a decent micro bottle cooler a couple of which were DFH Midas Touch and Raisin d’Extra. As far as the food goes, my wife and I each had a corned beef sandwich with potato wedges and onion rings. Illini08 had a spicey Beamish soaked roast beef sandwich and potatoes. Three sandwiches and a couple of drinks and the bill was only $25! My pint of Schlafly’s Imp. Stout was just $3. I can’t wait to go back for some of their Irish Stew and the beer list said coming soon Schlafly Barleywine. Mmmmmm | | Philip (64), Illinois | | September 11, 2005 [ Updated December 13, 2005 ] I’ll begin by saying that never before have I eaten such tasty, braised-in-Guiness roast beef for $7.75. The prices are amazing for the quality of food. That being said, I’d rather pay an extra buck for real mashed potatoes instead of the boxed artificial stuff. The tap selection was decent, particularly for central IL, although there’s a lot of stuff like Beamish Stout, Fullers London Pride, Spaten Octoberfest, etc. As a plus, they did offer Delerium Tremens and Dogfish 90 minute. Probably 20 some taps with a few standouts, but a very good bottle selection overall. World Wide Stout, Devil Dancer, Unibroue selections, some Belgian imports, and surprisingly, Schalfly bottles from St. Louis, which are always decent. The ambiance won the day, an old renovated brick building with lots of rustic wood beams. Was rather loud on a Friday night, and our waitress was sub-par. I asked her for a list of taps and bottles, and she said no such list was available. When I then asked her to name the beers on tap, she rolled her eyes and repeated some of the names with an air of superiority, as though I would know none. Oh well. In the end, there’s likely not a better place for tap beer in Peoria outside of the microbrewery next door. | | JMerritt (44), Macomb, Illinois | | August 15, 2005 The wife and I stopped by this place for lunch on Saturday afternoon. We were actually in the area to stop by the Rhodell brewpub, but it was closed until 2pm, and this place is literally right next door, so we stopped in. I was pretty much floored at the place. Very well decorated with the typical Irish decor, and the menu was large and reasonably priced. I was mostly floored by their beer selections: Three Floyd’s Gumballhead, Dogfish Head 90 Minute, Delerium Tremens and more were all on tap. Bottled beers included Guinness and other Irish favorites along with a small selection of some regional micros, a few Tripels and some other various Belgian ales. I spoke with the bar manager, and he said he is in the process of adding another 12+ taps to the place and is going to have a bunch of Oktoberfests in the fall, a bunch of winter beers in the winter, etc. AND he said a Bud/Miller/Coors will never be available on tap in this place. Well worth a visit; I reckon that they will have much more to offer in the coming months. |
