Walt | Very quant type place...like an old hunting lodge...bartenders were all hispanic, which just kind of seemed strange...good service, mediocre beers...fairly generic.

michael-pollack | Bad beer, bad food, and slow service make for a very poor brewpub. I would not go back.

Drnk_McDermott | I think this was my second brewpub ever when I first found it in 1993. Finally came back in ’07 and found it hadn’t changed much, especially the beer. Odd little rustic cabin decor seems contrived once the suburbs have grown up around it. Crowd is mostly middle management from nearby Sears, Allstate and ATT HQ’s. Only four of their beers on tap at any one time, plus Fat Tire, while most of the patrons were having bottled Lite. I only had the chicken wings while trying out their pricey sampler tray, so I won’t rate the food. Actually, it’s a nice place, just not a great brewpub. I notice that the list of beers rated doesn’t have anything darker than a porter. The general store attached does have a nice selection of micros, though.

gws57 | Millrose is the exact opposite of it’s trendy neighbor across the street. I almost expected sawdust on the floor. Service was VERY slow but the beers were good and the place was loud. Loved it. (4/4/10/N/15)
Rerated 8/11/07 -- For some reason, I got the totally wrong impression of this place least year. VERY pricey food, meager selection of mediocre beer, and inattentive service lead me to really shift my rating.

frankenkitty | Millrose has an incredible look and feel to it... a creation spawned from one man’s obsession with barns. This place is composed of no fewer than SIX barns that William Rose had moved to this location and assembled to form a massive complex of Brewery, Restaurant and General Store.
Cozy dining in comfortable armchairs amidst an abundance of rough-hewn and shellaqued wood. Soft lighting and quiet jazz add to a cozy, romantic feel. (In other words, bring a date, wear a tie and leave your drinkin’ buddies at home.) In all seriousness, I did feel underdressed dining in blue jeans, but the bar area seemed relaxed yet "manly"... so you and your buds could hang out there wearing your ball caps and sneakers.
Food was excellent, although highly priced (a chicken breast dish rounded out above $20). I decided to just go balls-out and ordered a peppercorn Prime Rib that was cooked to perfection. Chicken finger appetizers were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Both the Cream of Chicken and Beef soups were hearty and delicious. Two satisfying meals, appetizers and enough beer to please a RateBeerian and his wife totaled out to around $100, including tip.
Beers were average at best, but the dining experience made the visit worthwhile. As mentioned before, this borders on upscale dining with prices to match.

badgerben | Definitely a northwoods hunting lodge feel to it. The beer was pretty bland and in one case, offensive. Didn’t try any food. The multiple big screen plasma tvs had ESPN on.

StewardofGondor | Bar in the restaurant is not handicap (or in my case, stroller) accessible. Kind of a rustic lodge feel to the whole place. Didn’t get any food but got every one of their beers. It’s $6 for 4 fluted 6-oz. sample glasses. Hence, I got two sets of the sampler to get all 8 of their tapped beers. Beer was better than the beer at Brass (across the street) but it’s nothing to write home about. A decent stop to make, but we probably won’t venture back here.

Braudog | May 1999: Sub-average rating.

SubstanceT | Nice place to eat I guess. The price points are in $10 increases. Burger = $10, pasta or anything else $20, then $30 and up. They had a beer sampler that was $5 for 4 beers and were at least 6-8oz samples. Pretty nice. Cool atmosphere especially in the bar. Check this place out if you get a chance.

Cornfield | This is more of a large, log lodge-like restaurant that makes a few beers than it is a brewpub. Lots of restaurant seating and a fairly decent bar set-up. The reason I was there, tho’, was the beers. They had seven of their own on tap when I was there, all drinkable if not exceptional. The common factor was that they were all slightly watery. The other beers were all macro-swill-pisswaters. This is more of a spot for a dining experience than it is a drinking one.
