| wilsomb (29), State College, Pennsylvania | | June 24, 2009 Not bad if there’s nothing else around, like Warrenville. It’s still a Rock Bottom, which means the beers are sub-par and the food is decent to good. It’s nicer than your average restaurant, but not much more. I’d go again. | | nj4christ (14), Columbus, New Jersey | | December 18, 2008 Another great brewpub chain. I would recommend going if there is one in your area. The Warrenville one has a nice atmosphere and a great food and beer combination. It is a treat. | jebert (9), Watertown, Wisconsin does not count - explanation | | May 26, 2008 This brewpub is very inviting with its decor package, lighting and huge beer vats containing a nice variety of libations. Service was friendly, although the waitstaff was not overly knowlegable about beer. Had the sampler and liked most of the choices with the stout being my favorite. Food was very good. Recommend a visit if you are in the area. | | hopscotch (152), Vero Beach, Florida | | May 9, 2008 Dark and laid back. Lots of wood. Didn’t eat anything. The beer is not in the least bit solid. Bland, watery and uninspired. There are two Rock Bottoms within a forty five minute drive that put the quality of beer here to total shame! | | kseecs16 (146), Naperville, Illinois | | March 12, 2008 [ Updated September 9, 2008 ] Dark cozy feeling ambiance. Brewing equip not as prevalent, 16bbl serving vessels enclosed behind bar. Same respectable RBb food. Nice atmosphere if you aren’t insulted by suburbanites like some appear to be. The brewer Griffin Ford is a real nice guy and has been putting out some really good stuff lately, though the tastes of the local crowed tend to limit his ability to experiment too much. You can usually get one or two beers on cask as well.
| tompete (3), Burlington, Iowa does not count - explanation | | February 25, 2008 Good food. Good beer. The bigger beers were the real treat. The barley wine and the imperial stout were absolutely wonderful. Too bad you can’t take either one away in a growler, just the smaller beers. | | Headbanger (45), Aurora, Illinois | | February 21, 2008 Have been coming here for the Mug Club events and have nothing negative to say. They have good and friendly service along with some great tasting brews, | | troyc (72), Lubbock, Texas | | January 31, 2008 Stopped by here to try the sampler. A nice looking brewpub, with a clean atmosphere. Sampler served in 4 oz. glasses. Good selection of beers on tap (10). Service was decent. I didn’t try the food, but I would come back. | | DrnkMcDermott (73), Downers Grove, Illinois | | January 21, 2008 Visited on a Friday after work, which os probably not the best time to see a beer-centric place. As I sat at the bar, at least three yuppie types pushed past me trying to order a Bud Light. I resisted the urge offer to pee in a glass for them, since I didn’t want to reflect poorly on the staff somehow. But still I hope to come in during a more relaxed hour and give it a better once over. Seems to have been built well before RB settled on a standard configuration for new sites. Cluttered (in a good way) spaces, but also, having extra height for the brew works, pretty noisy. I’d heard a few knocks against their beers earlier, but consensus is they’ve been improving, and my sampler tray confirmed this. pretty good place that’s unfortunately in the Naperville Yuppie Hell area. Get in yer Beemers and find yerselves and Applebee’s! | | Ughsmash (138), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | January 14, 2008 This is a very good location if you’re in the Naperville area. It had a typical warm, welcoming Rock Bottom feel to it, with an average-sized bar area and plenty of seating (upstairs too). Service is always very friendly and attentive. The food’s mighty tasty. They usually have 8-10 beers or so on tap, and they’ve taken to adventuring into more interesting styles and bourbon barrel-aging. Prices are reasonable. I’d recommend stopping in here if you’re anywhere close. |
