| Teege (12), Orlando, Florida | | September 15, 2009 My favorite place to go in Indianapolis. Was an almost nightly regular when I lived there. I haven’t been in a couple of years, but I have many wonderful memories. I usually enjoyed the pubs house beers straight from the on-site micro-brewery. While usually crisp and delightful if not all that complex, some of their seasonal brews are way up there. The staff was wonderful, and though they were patiently waiting to go home after a long evening, they applauded me while I drunkenly sang Misfits songs at the top of my lungs during my going away party. The food, while certainly pub fare, was always delicious, especially the lawn mower chicken sandwich. I had too many great times at this place to tell, and I miss it very very much. | | EithCubes (76), Indiana | | July 12, 2009 Took me a few years to get up here, but very glad I did. Very busy on this nice little summer night in a nice little walkable part of town. Inside is dark and very wooden with lots of compartmentalized sections. Strange British enclave in the heart of the American Midwest. Nachos were very good and enormous; I have a near-bottomless stomach and had to take more than half home. | | shawnm213 (42), South Bend, Indiana | | June 11, 2009 The inside of this place is like a maze. took me a minute to find my way to the bar. Had a good amount of covered outdoor seating, but not the greatest view. The patrons were very socialable and it seemed like there were a lot of regulars at the bar. The brewer was always around chatting. very welcoming place. | | tjthresh (76), Greenfield, Indiana | | May 29, 2009 My favorite Indy brewpub. Everything is kind of old a rickety. Seems like an old English pub from the movies. Most of the beer is above average. Food is tasty, but seems sloppily made. Service is normally okay. | | greco (14), Zeeland, Michigan | | May 23, 2009 Great little place that my buddies and I make a point to visit whenever in the area. They always have at least one beer that I say ’wow’ to. Good selection of pub food and a nice darts area. Always makes me happy. My complaint is that they often serve scotch ales, stouts, etc way too cold for the style. | | Crafty07 (10), Florence, Kentucky | | December 9, 2008 Busy out of the way brew pub with tasty offerings and food and and an excellent regional bottle selection as well. I’d come here again no problem! | | nuplastikk (20), Madison, Wisconsin | | November 18, 2008 Highly worthwhile spot to hit up in Indianapolis. Lots of connected rooms, mellow atmosphere when we were there. I thought the house beers were above average to say the least and the local bottle selection was on point as well. The food was good. I’d love to get back to this spot. | | Rastacouere (475), Montréal, Quebec | | September 25, 2008 A rather depressing pub with a huge neighborhood vibe. Everyone seemed to know each other. Unfortunately, they all seemed to be so much into football that I did not feel home at all. Otherwise, it could be a nice pub with a rather authentic Brit feel to it, though it’s very poorly lighted and felt almost spooky (at 4pm). I would not want to eat there. As far as the beers are concerned, they had 8 available on draught. Most were thin and unremarkable, but their bitter was absolutely spot on (and cask-conditioned). Flawless service though. | | Glouglouburp (214), Montreal, Quebec | | May 20, 2008 Very cosy place. Although overall medium-large the place is separated in a few 20-30 people sections so you have the feeling of sitting is a small neighbourhood pub. I didn’t eat there because I ate at Brugge Brasserie a few blocks away, and I recommend you do the same. But looking at the food menu and customer plates we’re talking typical greasy pub food. They had 8 of the beers on tap, including 2 casks!! Beer style seems to be geared towards English style (which was to be expected with the two casks) as well as some not-too-hoppy American styles. I only had one pint there (the ESB) and it was excellent, made me feel like I was back in England. | | heemer77 (171), Savannah, Missouri | | April 19, 2008 Nice English pub atmosphere with a couple of beers on cask. The beers were solid, but nothing spectacular or adventerous. The crowd seemed fairly young. I would like to try a couple more of their beers and apprecaite that they do half pints. I also noticed bottles of Mad Anthony and Old Rasputin getting sold - Respect! A solid brewpub that gets it right with perfecting a few good brews rather than trying too much wacky stuff. |
