Visited on a Saturday night for dinner. The place was hard to find, as it looked like an old diner. I’m pretty sure this was an old railroad depot (hence the name), so it had a old-time feel to it. They only had three beers on tap, and while none were horrible, none were great. Their Vanilla Ale was there best. The food was good, much like I expected it to be. The service was pretty good, as the waitress let us change their one TV to what we wanted to watch. The value was great, as the samples of beer were free. My meal cost $11 and it consisted of a bacon cheeseburger, waffle fries, and two beers. Not a place worth traveling out of your way for, but a nice little stop nonetheless.

Visited 8/26/05: About an hour outside Omaha, this reclaimed railroad station is a small town cafe that happens to brew some of its own beer. Owned by the same people who own the Firehouse Brewpub in Red Oak, they have the same selections here. The beers alone aren’t worth the trip into rural Iowa, but if you happen to find yourself in town on a political campaign or something, stop by and support a local brewer.
