| tjthresh (76), Greenfield, Indiana | | July 27, 2009 6 or 7 house brewed beers on. Server worked hard to make us happy. My family all ejoyed their food. Average prices. Not the nicest place I’ve been. | | AguynamedTodd (17), Indiana | | April 18, 2009 [ Updated April 20, 2009 ] Went to the Shelbyville Rd location. Service was pretty much nonexistant. Took us 20 minutes to get waited on. Went to bar to get beers and bartender wasn’t friendly. Food was ok. We had 8 at our table which is an automatic 18 percent gratuity. We left vowing never to return. | | esjaygee (103), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | May 23, 2008 Went to the brewpub for dinner and a sampler. Food was decent… the beer was ok at best. Waitress brought the sampler to me and there was beer dumped all over the sampler tray and the card that said which beer was which was dirty. Also, one of my glasses was cracked. Smoke-free atmosphere was nice but a family brought their crying baby and noisy kid, not what I like in a bar atmosphere. Most of the beer was ho-hum and the main beers I came for (listed on the website) weren’t even on tap. | | clingman71 (12), Centerville, Ohio | | April 20, 2008 Downtown Louisville location. Went in on a Saturday night after the dinner crowd and before the band. We got seated right away but seemed to upset the waiter when we said that we were just there for a beer. Bluegrass has really stepped up there offerings of beer over the last few years, BUT none of these were available. None of the Belgian styles, No IPA or Homewrecker IIPA, nothing bourbon/barrel aged????????? | | 502Flavors (37), Louisville, Kentucky | | April 16, 2008 My first local brewpub experience a while back. Been drinking their beer almost since I first started drinking (some great stuff). Staff is friendly, everyone can find a beer they like, even though there are generally about 8 kegs on tap. They serve only their own beer (excepting coors and corona and the one time I went with a non-beer lover, and he got a corona, the bartender laughed in his face :). Simple, located in a nice part of town, usually a lower tamed crowd but very pleasant people. The staff isn’t always knowledgeable about the beer, but it isnt hard to find someone who is. The food is good and has gotten even better recently the menu consists of typical bar food. Nice owner who is willing to chat when he’s there. | | eaglefan538 (90), Wilmington, Delaware | | January 18, 2008 One of my favorite brewpubs I’ve been to ever. We arrived late (9pm dinner basically) and unplanned, brought the kids, and were highly concerned that the loudness or collegiate presence would be disturbing. However, we left with the kids quite happy, the wife having had a good time, and myself both beer and food happy. They do some very nice brews, if not very fancy, and the food selection and quality were stellar. Plenty of sports screens to watch a game too. | Cush (8), does not count - explanation | | January 9, 2008 Stopped in to sample the local brews and to have a snack before dinner. Pros: Sell bombers and singles/6ers of their brew. Wings were really tasty, large bar area. Cons: Bar area smell, staff not very knowledgeable about beers, loud music. All in all a great place to grab a bite to eat and sample all that BBC has to offer. | | mnurda (22), Winnipeg, Manitoba | | November 6, 2007 Went last Winter during the Truck Show. Busy place. Liked the ambiance. Food was very good. Tap selections weren’t that great, but fun was had by all. | | Dansting (114), Overland Park, Kansas | | August 1, 2007 Visited late on a Wednesday night for a few beers. The place was located in what the cab driver said was a fun part of town, and it appeared to be. When we walked in, there were a bunch of hillbilly-looking guys playing some Bluegrass, which I guess is fitting considering the name of the place. When we got in, there were three bartenders, but it looked like only one was working. Waited about five minutes at a not crowded bar to have my order taken. As for the beers, they were pretty good, and we took them and went out to the patio, which was a nice little setting. Seemed like a pretty fun place to go, and if you’re into playing or listening to bluegrass music (not my thing), this is a great place to hit on a Wednesday night. | gunsho (7), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | March 8, 2007 i like this place for the variety of the beer but am sometimes disheartened by the waitstaff’s lack of interest/knowledge in the beer. the food can be good, 30 c wings during cards games is nice. plus they have live music a lot at night. would definatley recommend it in the louisville area. |
