| MtStateBeer (21), Hurricane, West Virginia | | April 6, 2009 Visited on a Sunday evening in November. It was a typical dead sunday night, so service was readily available. Very nice place, decent sized bar, it appeared to have a nice porch seating area, but it was too cold for that. Service was decent. Our waitress was nice and helpful recommending food, but was no help with the beer. I asked what styles the thumpr and the bangor were. She replied, I don’t know, it’s just their names. After tasting, I had a good guess but talked to the bartender on the way out. The food was good. I had the crab cakes, lobster bisque, and the haddock soft taco. All were very good. The beers were nice, of course, had to have the sampler. I liked the IPA and the porter, they had IPA on cask. Overall, it was a very good evening at a nice brewpub. (100e rating d’établissement) | | Pastor (15), Maine | | June 8, 2007 Been here twice both times the service was not that great. Amen to Fanwick on the sampler. The food portions were small and you defiantly pay for the view .PS the Root beer is bought by the bottle too, I found out the hard way with my kids (it was better than some of the ales I tasted) | | FanwickMike (33), | | August 4, 2006 I had seen several ads for Seadog in the local papers and decided to stop by. I asked for a beer sampler, and was rewarded with a staggering 13 beer sample tray! Unfortunately, this abundance of beers only produced 2 which stood out, those being a blueberry flavored wheat beer, and their Old East Pale Ale. The food was very good, (I had a Stroganoff with Rag Noodles and my wife had the Mediterranean Chicken) as well as being reasonably priced. Service was good, and the Bangor site was very nicely situated, over-looking the river. | | albert007 (13), Penobsquis, New Brunswick | | August 24, 2005 Nice location, easy to find in the metropolis of Bangor. All i had was toast, soup & a stout but the menu did look pretty good. Soup was great, the stout was ok & the toast was, well toast. Wish I didn’t have to drive or else I would have sampled more of the beers. | | CapFlu (179), Victoria, British Columbia | | July 25, 2005 A gorgeous location - nestled into the side of the river. Easy to find and with plenty of parking. The food and ambience was very good though the beers were a tad Maine-watery. | ruggedman (9), Portland, Maine does not count - explanation | | July 7, 2005 Nice Ambiance, right on the river...a little too much open space though. Service is always friendly and nice. Selection of food and drinks are great. Mostly thier beers but that’s what you get at a brewery isnt it :) Food is always excellent. |
