Cool brewery that manages to stay professional and efficient but fun and adventurous at the same time. Great staff, great attitudes. They do the experimental barrel aging and microbial stuff and have a koelschip room with a custom-made stained glass A on the door. The tour is lightening fast, which is actually quite nice. And they start with the tastings instead of ending with them, which is also nice. Worth a visit if in the area.

First, there’s the standard tour and tasting, which begins with a handful of tasting from the big bottles. Fun stuff, but they don’t break out their special brews. The tour is quick and easy, which is fair enough as I’ve seen a lot of breweries. The shop has a good selection of their specialty brews. Now, my girlfriend had been in contact with one of the brewers and we got to see the koelschip room, which was pretty cool stuff, and got us a couple of special bottles from in back. Sweeeet.

Nice easey to find brewery. Tour was pretty simple bordering on poor. The girl leading it was new and did not know much about brewing. The brewers were nice, but nothing special. Beers are good, the only tasting were their 12 oz.bottles, none of the better stuff.

I entered the shop to find only three of their brews to be on site, Hugh Malone, Triple Reserve and Curieux. Was expecting a better selection for my 2.5 hour drive. Staff was ok, I think she was new at the register. Checked out the brewery though, nice operation, small but looks very professional.

J’ai visité leur brasserie une journée moche, tant mieux. Je m’attendais à plus de choix de leur produit que ça, seulement 7 bouteilles, 5 d’entre elles étaient en dégustation (j’en ai bu 3, car les 2 autres je les ai déjà esseiller). Je n’ai pas faite la tourné, mais si vous avez jamais visité une brasserie (une bonne en tout cas), ça vaut la paine.

Very helpful staff, great selection of their products. Not alot of merchandise, but that isn’t what is all about, now is it? I missed the tour but what I saw of the brewery was neat. Small classy operation.

This brewery has a nice atmosphere, with cold beers available in bottle, as well as an assortment of thier barrel aged beers available in bottle. Sadly the brewery doesn’t have any beers on tap, nor does it offer growlers. The tour guide was very knowledgable, but the our was slightly lacking in length and breadth. Well worth of visit for anyone interested in quality Belgian style ales in the US.

A good place to visit. They truly let you try all the beers and they take you out back to see the whole set up. They also sell out of their store, but not really at a discount.

The original American-born Belgian mecca. Great accommodating staff and fine brewer. Rob provides more to the local and beering community than any brewer I can think of. Great beer and a fantastic showroom make this a first-stop on any trip to Maine.

I was in the area in October 2005 and decided to stop by with some friends. We got a 20-minute private tour (since no one else showed) and saw the whole place. Nice folks making some outstanding beer. We got to sample 5 or 6 different beers, including several that aren’t distributed to Texas. I picked up a couple bottles (750mL) of the Tenth anniversary ale, a derivative of my favorite beer of theirs, the Tripel. They sell their own beers there, and had a solid selection, as well as logo shirts and glassware. We loaded up on gear and I even talked them out of some coasters and some advertising mini-posters. All in all, a great diversion for a weekday afternoon. Especially when out of state visiting family.
