Happened upon this place because it was practically right next door to a vegan buffet restaurant I was checking out - as of summer ’07 this place did not have nearly the selection of Downeast - pretty much a full stock of all the local brews that you can buy pretty much anywhere around here, even at gas stations, with a few exceptions in the form of fairly common belgian and canadian imports - the cheese shop is nice, and they have a nice selection of olives, but as a beer store it isn’t that impressive.

This is basically a small stand within the enclosed Portland Public Market, with nearly the same selection as the much larger Downeast Beverage. Virtually every in-season Maine beer available, most of the 12 oz available in mix-a-six, with quite a few logo glasses available as well. Excellent cheese shop across the aisle and plenty of other gourmet vendors within the market. Food rating for the cheese shop.
