| Glouglouburp (214), Montreal, Quebec | | November 1, 2009 Yet another spotless pub with too much of a sports bar/franchise feel to it with. Too clean, too many TV screens. Not warm. From what I understood they always have the same five beer on tap with one seasonal, two if you happen to be there in-between two seasonals. Food is above average pub greasy food at standard price. Beer is so-so at best. Service is cute girls who know nothing about beer. You get the picture. Worth a visit? Not really. | | MartinT (348), Montreal, Quebec | | July 20, 2009 The uninspiring façade of this Sebago pub and restaurant thankfully got forgotten once inside, where a typical, comfortable pub and restaurant feel dominated from bar to dining room. The long bar with tall windows looking onto the street is particularly nice. They’ve got their basic brews on tap here and a few seasonals as well, which were the hefeweizen and the double IPA when I visited. The mushroom ravioli with blue cheese sauce I had were good, if not drowning in sauce, and the beers were all clean and drinkable, save for the overly brash Double IPA. That being said, I would probably come back once in a while if I were living in Portland, but with Novare Res a few blocks away, I’m afraid this visiting Canadian will not come back to Sebago’s often. | | coldbrewky (50), Saugerties, New York | | July 14, 2009 Easily found while in Porland. The dining crowd was mostly younger twenty somethings and was a bit on the loud side upstaris with the bigscreen TV’s goin. The basement dining area was quite comfortable and the food arrived propmptly even though the place was packed. I sat at the bar upstairs a week or so later and was delighted to have fresh pretzel rods in tumblers to munch on. Decent Pretzels outside of PA are at times hard to come by. All their house beers on tap. I was able to purchase a few bombers to go as well, but the selection of said bombers was a bit on the thin side. | | sigma23 (10), , Maine | | April 4, 2009 great beer sampler, great food, good people and great atmosphere | | 6ROW (23), corpus christi, Texas | | February 8, 2009 great beer, great food and friendly staff. try the sampler total of 8 beers | rcasta (7), , El Salvador does not count - explanation | | October 10, 2008 tried all the beers because the sampler is there. probe todas las birrias porque el sampler lo permite, y estan bastante hoppy | | Beese (50), Watford, England | | July 3, 2008 [ Updated September 5, 2008 ] Sebago was pretty busy when we visited it and so we were seated in the downstairs section, which had a nice resteraunt feel to it, I’m not sure what the bar is like. I tried four of their beers, unfortunately they didn’t serve the beer in any measurements other than 16 and 22oz, so I wasn’t able to try all of them, however the four I had were all very nice, particularly the Lake Trout Stout (I could really taste the trout). Shame I didn’t try the barley wine which is highly rated. The service was very professional and as friendly as you could expect considering that they were very busy. The food was particularly good, I thought, a very nice array of pasta dishes. Definitely worth going for a meal here. | | IPFreely (92), Lewiston, New York | | June 8, 2008 Nice classy interior, very clean and sterile, with very high ceilings. The house beers were pretty approachable, and the barley wine kicked ass. We were treated very well by our bartenders, although we were pretty much their only customers. But hey, they were attentive and chatty. Didn’t eat there. Pretty standard in the world of brewpubs, but a bit above average and worth a stop for the barley wine if no other reason. | | VTHopHead (36), Barre, Vermont | | June 1, 2008 Visited over Memorial Day weekend. This place is more the traditional restaurant-style of place with better than average food (a little expensive). The selection of brews was limited to the standard list of beers that the brewer produces, with one important exception. Sebago has started to brew single batch offerings and the one that they had when I was there was a quite excellent barleywine... hopefully they will add that to their regular list of brews. | | Lumpy (50), Carrollton, Texas | | November 8, 2006 Didn’t have the food, but from what I saw of other patrons meals, it looked yummy. Good location a few blocks from the waterfront. Big modern looking facility. Beer was...beer. Not bad, but kinda boring. My service was very good. Not overly friendly, but good. She took care of me without talking to me, and as an intravert, I like that. |
