| simonbilyk (12), Maine | | July 25, 2009 Was driving on route 2 and saw a tiny green sign for Oak Pond Brewing, slammed on the brakes and felt like I was lost on a tiny rural road. Was the only one there except for Nancy and her son (wish I remembered his name). Tasted a few of the beers on tap and walked out with a few bottles. I really appreciate the fact that the heaviest beer isn’t really that heavy, they’re the kinds of beer that you’re always in the mood for. Definitely stop by if you get the chance, might be worth a call ahead although I got the impression they’re usually there. The place had a wonderful vibe, it made me pleased to be alive. It is in an old barn that has been converted to a brewery. The brewer and his wife live in a house right next to the barn and they will be happy to show you everything you want to see any answer any of your questions. Not only is it fun to walk around a barn with the brewer, but this place has some pretty good beers too. I’d recommend trying a few and buying some growlers of your favorites. If you go back you can bring back your empty growlers and get a discount when refilling them. This is a classic family operation that is friendly and does a good job making tastey beer. |
