November 19, 2005 [ Updated January 5, 2006 ] This place has gone through a change of ownership in the past year. The previous management was very committed to better beer. The old staff was very keen and highly educated on all things beer. The new management wants to keep things the same, but only time will tell. The Old Vine does have a smart selection of beer for it’s size. |

November 18, 2005 Nice place. It has wood floors and cozy lighting, not your typical megamart. Selection is limited, but very good. May just be me but they seem to get the seasonals just before everyone else. Staff is friendly and knowledgable if asked. |

August 11, 2005 I like this place. The only thing is, I don’t live near these parts anymore and would probably be seduced to the dark side that is Wells. They have hand picked beers, with a very nice selection of both Belgians and mid-atlantic micros. NEVER a stale beer in the joint--something Wells should pick up on--and the people who work there actually KNOW BEER. If you are looking for something new and different, come here first. |

September 25, 2004 I stopped here after visiting Wells Discount Liqours. Very small selection but some hard to find beer. Picked up a couple of Westy 12s and a couple of other gems. Very expensive. |

February 26, 2004 When I worked in Baltimore, this was my weekly beer destination. The selection is handpicked by fellows who love beer and are extremely knowledgeable regarding their subject. The staff will point you in the direction of the freshest and most flavorful of their stock and offer candid opinions of other offerings. They offer a solid selection of Belgians, but focus intsensly on Mid-Atlantic microbrews. While they do not have every beer available in the State, they also do not stock any stale beer. It is the finest beer store I have visited and one that I will make a trip to revisit. Be aware that they also stock an excellent assortment of unique cheeses and wines. |
