| HoppityHop (28), | | September 28, 2008 Excellent true-to-style English style ales (served at proper temps) and solid pub style food at decent prices, this is one of the best brewpubs on the East Coast. Probably one of the most authentic English pubs this side of the pond. Even though it’s down the street from Camden Yards, it’s certainly not a place for snobs or jocks........which only makes it all the better! | | Sammy (206), Toronto, Ontario | | June 27, 2008 A few stouts and bitters that are drinkable, a decent outside downtown. Outside of that, an overated bar. Not too large inside with punk style music, and waitresses. A couple of nitro taps, no casks on today. Kind of marginal to the afficionado. Long bar, no real knowledge on the part of staff. Service was Ok, prices are competitive with the beer scene here, 3 half pints for $5 Baltimore working class. | | badlizard (64), San Diego, California | | December 5, 2007 Showed up with a party of six at 10:30 on a Sat. after a big game. They had the dinning area closed leaving only the too small and very crowded bar area, which could not accommodate our party. To make things worse, they do not sell samplers after 7PM. That was a real deal breaker for us, especially after seeing they had a decent selection. The service was a bit gruff, and all in all the experience here sucked. Definitely NOT worth a visit. | mcbackus (8), Merritt Island, Florida does not count | | September 28, 2007 very pleasant and comfortable atmosphere, wonderful selection of english style beers and an ok bottle selection, but i dont know why you would want a bottle here. the decor of the bar is excellent and the staff is very helpful even at the lunch rush. food menu is very nice with traditional english food to vegeatarian stuff. very happy here and this is my kind of place. fish and chips were order and is vey good with quick service. | | mvcramer (13), Arlington, Massachusetts | | August 10, 2007 I went here for the highly-recommended Olivers line of beers, brewed at The Wharf Rat. I asked the bartender for the best of the 10-12 choices of Olivers on draft. He recommended the Vanilla Ice and the Blonde Ale. Both were nauseating. The service was worse. It’s a sad commentary when the food (which is pub grub) far outshines the beer. The service by the hostess was atrocious. If the owner had been on-site the night I was there, he/she would have fired her on the spot. | | Capa (53), Yokosuka, Japan | | May 27, 2007 Had a nice pub look to it, quality service, and good beers. Bartenders knew their beer, too. Great place to go after an Orioles game. | | larsga (101), Oslo, Norway | | March 6, 2007 Nice, old-fashioned brick place with a very American feel to it. Nice, friendly service, and decent food. The beers are all excellent examples of British beers. Spent most evenings here for a whole week while at a conference in 2002. | | Aurelius (88), Tallahassee, Florida | | December 9, 2006 A pretty decent selection of taps. There’s no table service, so I sat like a dummy for a while while the barmaid ignored me. English style brews. I had the crabcakes and they were pretty tasty. Barmaid was very prompt and polite. Prices were good. Very much of a waterfront pub feel to the place. | | Ungstrup (209), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | November 20, 2006 Great place - really authentic sailors bar close to the harbour. Dark room, low cealing, lots of sailor relics - just great atmosphere. And when I visited they had 15 beers available - though I only managed to sample 12. I’m definately coming back some day. The prices are decent and the service friendly | | hopscotch (135), Vero Beach, Florida | | October 25, 2006 Just a stone’s throw from Camden Yards. I always hit the place before an Orioles game. Very decent food. Lots of their own brews on tap (12ish). Most of them tend to be bland, boring English styles. Most are very well-done however. Inside and outside seating. Not smoky. No reason not to stop by when at or near the Inner Harbor. | View Page : 1 2 3
