mckeowbc (1), , Maryland does not count | | September 6, 2008 Huge selection, but the prices are a bit high. Still if you can’t find it here, you can’t find it in Maryland, period. | pik5el (1), Pasadena, Maryland does not count | | July 14, 2008 This place is a hidden gem that I just discovered. The owner is a very nice and helpful man, and he said they just opened the store 4 months ago. Well, they are certainly doing something right! One of the best selections I have seen anywhere. Well stocked does not do it justice. The customer service, warmth, and enthusiasm of the whole staff were great. Many beers I haven’t been able to find elsewhere, including many rare styles. More imports than anywhere else in the area, and the craft selection is advertised to be the largest in the state. I believe it. | | hopscotch (135), Vero Beach, Florida | | June 29, 2008 Well-stocked store with an extremely enthusiastic, if not overwhelmingly knowledgeable, staff. Terrific selection of imported and domestic craft beers. Nice selection of Belgians, gueuzes and lambics. Any six pack can be broken. Reminds me of the one and only reason I regret leaving the Washington/Baltimore metro area... selection, selection, selection. | FatguyRacer (3), Crownsville, Maryland does not count | | June 27, 2008 I finally found this place. It’s like Mecca. But for beer lovers. There was so much to choose from, it was hard to pick something. I was like a kid in a candy store. The best part of the place is that its so easy to get too since its 5 min from my office. Joy! | | gpekar (10), Sykesville, Md, Alabama | | June 13, 2008 [ Updated September 22, 2008 ] last weekend 6/6/08 they had their official grand opening even though the store has been open for a couple of months. I was there the first day it was open just by chance and at that time they had just started stocking the shelves. The place is fairly large with a wide selection of beer and wine. The selection seems to get more and more each week. They have beer and wine tastings every weekend. The beer selection is pretty good and as mentioned by others you can make your own 6 with anything 12oz on the shelves at 10% off. The prices are pretty good, but its a mix. Some things are cheaper and some a little pricier than other places. Sign up for the email list to get a heads up on the tastings for the upcoming weekend. The website is under construction. | | beachbum25 (35), Powellville, Maryland | | June 11, 2008 Very clean, neat , well stocked beer store w/a huge selection. It was a little overwelming @ first. Everything available as a single & 10% off mixed six packs. I thought the pricing was pretty good, particularly with the 10% off. Would have liked to see more of the super rare stuff from some of the brewers they had, but that may come w/time. I was quite happy w/this place & I will stop here whenever I’m in the area. | | Stine (57), St. Paul , Minnesota | | June 1, 2008 Upscale look despite the strip mall setting. I didn’t need help but the service being offered elsewhere seemed eager and knowledgeable. Full lines of almost every (and probably every, for what I know being a passer-through) microbrewer available in MD, and a massive stock of imports including many of the newest bottles to come stateside like Cuvee de Ranke and De Molen Rasputin. Really a huge and high quality selection. Typically while shopping I have to sift through things to find something that I want to buy, and while the prices at this store were a bit on the high side, the huge selection meant I had to actually pick and choose what to take and what to leave. Left very happy having spent a hundred bucks. Quite easily one of the best stores I’ve ever been in. Thanks to Ken for the ride and to Ali for tolerating. | | acrdz (538), Boulder, Colorado | | April 30, 2008 Stopped in on Friday afternoon while driving through the area. Perfect Pour is located in a newly built strip mall spot close to I-95, and you walk into a fairly large wine and beer selection, larger and more gourmet than most beer stores but not a big as a Total Wine. Most of the beer is stacked on rows in the back, with nearly everything available and displayed as a single. Like others have said, the import selection is quite good, and while they don’t have everything, and I imagine they’re early in the distribution game (so they won’t have the super rare stuff), they did have some Belgians I had no seen elsewhere, and they had a number of gueuze as well. Nice store, prices slightly higher than average but not outrageous. | KnN (9), Greenbelt, Maryland does not count | | April 6, 2008 [ Updated August 14, 2008 ] Tons of different beers in stock with a nice rotation of seasonals. Jason, one of the guys who leads the beer tastings they have every weekend is a wealth of knowledge.
You can also pull singles from six packs to make your own which is not that common but which is VERY nice.
Beers are arranged by country and the selection is almost overwhelming. One of the best beer stores I’ve ever been to. | | kmweaver (67), Takoma Park, Maryland | | March 26, 2008 Just opened about a month and a half ago. Very clean, pleasant place: solid wine selection (not that I know a lot, but they still had some Mollydookers on the shelf), plus a very solid sake selection (maybe twenty or so bottles, with plenty of yummy nigoris). The beer selection, at least right now, is just phenomenal for Maryland: full lines of pretty much everything (not patchy, like Olney and Astor’s used to be): Allagash, Rogue, Great Divide, Oskar Blues, etc. Huge Belgian and foreign beer selection: I took the opportunity to pick up some Kolsches and Kellerbiers I’d normally walk by at other places, knowing they were about as fresh as I’d ever see them. Very full, well-organized stock no rare gems, other than all the great stuff that makes it to Maryland. With a store like this (it’s not quite Stateline, but it’s also a hell of a lot closer for me), I don’t understand why folks complain about the selection in the state. Great stuff, reasonable prices for the most part (nowhere near as pricey as Olney, for instance), and I’ll definitely be back there whenever I’m in the area. | View Page : 1 2
